Growing up in the late 90s, there were only two questions that crossed my mind.
Is Santa real, and can Alien Eggs actually have babies?
After all these years, there is somehow still a genuine doubt in regards to the latter, and one lad decided to put a few theories to the test.
YouTuber Nostalgia Lounge, shared a video on his channel to talk about the iconic Alien Egg toy craze.
Can they reproduce? (LADbible)
The novelty plaything resembled an egg that we all thought would 'hatch' to reveal a small alien figure encased in goo or slime.
It was perhaps designed to spark curiosity in stupid children like myself.
Anyhow, the content creator decided to see for himself if these little grey things could actually 'reproduce'.
Test #1
The lad decided to try out what was once the 'most popular school rumour regarding these alien eggs'.
It was that 'you put two of the eggs in the same shell, and then you put it in the fridge for five hours'.
"Okay, so it's been a few hours. Let's see if we had some babies, much colder than it was," he said.
"But looking at this, we still only have two aliens."

Test #2
Nostalgia Lounge continued: "So another theory that used to go around the school playgrounds was that you would put it in a microwave.
"And we're not gonna do that one. Feel like we should skip that one. We're gonna skip that one."
Test #3
The next theory was to put 'two aliens in the same shell and then put them in the bath together'.
This did not work, as the YouTuber commented: "I mean, I don't know how this one came about, but we've got to give it a try. It's science. So here we go.
"Okay, so they've been in there for about half an hour. Now, this is such a stupid idea, I can't believe I've just wasted an actual bath on a toy alien that there is no baby on to the next one."

Test #4
"So the last and most plausible kind of theory regarding these aliens was that you rub them together. So here we go," he said, sadly revealing that it did not work.
"Doesn't look like we've got any babies.
"So I guess the rumours were false, whether it was just our wild imagination or maybe our parents were, you know, feeding that imagination by adding a third alien when we didn't know, which made us genuinely believe that the theory was true."
What happened when we tried?
Back in 2018, LADbible also tested the various theories, by sticking the Alien Eggs into the fridge, rubbing them together and even popping them in the microwave.
Shockingly, nothing we tried worked.
