TV star's baby undergoes 'first surgery' just a year old

By the looks of social media, Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden are thriving at being parents. The two welcomed their first child together in November last year. Now, baby Leighton is experiencing lots of “firsts” in her life, some of which are pretty “big” news.

Of Trent and Amber Johnston’s children, Liz was the first to make them grandparents. During 7 Little Johnstons season 14, fans get to see the hugely anticipated moment the family welcomes a new bundle of joy. Leighton Drew Bolden was born on November 3 and on that special day, her parents described her as being “5lbs 10oz 19 inches long of pure sweetness.”

Liz announces Leighton’s ‘big day’

Many TLC fans may have thought Leighton’s “big day” in November would be her birthday.

However, her family take to Instagram this fall to share just after Leighton’s first birthday that she’s having to undergo “surgery.”

Beneath an adorable snap of Liz and her daughter, the caption reads: “Big day for our Leighty-Bug….1st surgery.”

The surgery announcement is somewhat cryptic as the Johnstons don’t share what type of medical procedure was opted for.

The post comes just days after the ‘Team 7LJ’ IG page celebrated Leighton’s first birthday. The caption reads: “Our Leighty-Bug is 1 today!”

During 7 Little Johnstons season 14 when Liz was pregnant with Leighton, she didn’t appear to have any fears over her daughter’s health. She told her family: “…everything looks very healthy… All heart, four chambers looks good.”

Providing an update on Leighton’s procedure, her mom shared via IG Stories she had “tubes in ears,” reports TV Shows Ace. It’s unclear what the tubes are specifically for, but Liz thankfully says the procedure was a “success.”

Brice celebrates more ‘firsts’ for his daughter

Just before Leighton turned one and had to opt for her first surgery, her dad, Brice, was taking to the ‘gram to share more “firsts” in her life.

He smiles alongside his daughter in one photo and writes: “So proud of my little girl for accomplishing her first week at daycare.”

Brice and Liz also wrote in a joint post on their daughter’s first birthday:

“Our Leighton Drew is ONE. We love you so much Leighty-bug, baby girl, butter bean, you’ve made this year one that your Daddy and I will never forget, we love being your parents and are so blessed to call you ours, we can’t wait to see what the years ahead bring!”

By the looks of things, the family of three is thriving and super happy as Leighton turns one!
