The New Year is kicking off with brand new Dubai Bling episodes and people can’t get enough of the drama. While newbies clash with OG cast members, tears are shed and tantrums are had. But, behind-the-scenes there was more than just friendship problems cropping up.

Danya Mohammed Almulla, AKA Diva Dee, revealed she and her husband, DJ Bliss, were set to welcome a bundle of joy into their lives at the end of Dubai Bling season 3. She had to keep her pregnancy under wraps during filming. And, she also dealt with a medical condition in secret.

Danya details difficult pregnancy

People watching Dubai Bling this winter aren’t going to see Diva Dee’s pregnancy journey, but it turns out she had a pretty tough time behind the scenes.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, she explains how she suffered a condition in secret called Hyperemesis gravidarum.

According to Cleveland Clinic, “Hyperemesis gravidarum is the medical term for severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. The symptoms can be very uncomfortable. You might vomit more than three times a day, become dehydrated, feel constantly dizzy and lightheaded, and lose weight.”

The pregnancy complications caused severe nausea and vomiting and to make matters worse, Danya said she couldn’t tell anyone she was pregnant when she found out during filming.

She said: “It started before I knew I was expecting. I thought it was food poisoning, I did a pregnancy test. I found out I was pregnant and then I think it started around four or five weeks – for some people, it stays with them the first trimester.”

Dubai Bling star ‘couldn’t reveal pregnancy’

While filming Dubai Bling season 3, Danya explains how she was in the emergency room “every week and lost six kilograms.”

She adds how she had to keep the pregnancy quiet, detailing “how in Emirati culture women don’t disclose they’re expecting until they’re at least 12 weeks along.”

Diva Dee explains: “I was filming and I wasn’t feeling well, and I couldn’t tell anyone I was pregnant… My whole thing was like… keep it a secret – which caused drama on the show. I was sick, so I couldn’t show up to filming sometimes or attend certain events, like a few of Mona Kattan’s. And people were like ‘Oh, does Danya have an issue with her? With this person? Why isn’t she coming?’ And I couldn’t explain to anyone why I wasn’t showing up.”

The Netflix star continues to add how she “wouldn’t wish the condition on her worst enemy.”

She says: “The crazy thing is, you don’t look pregnant – you’re just a few weeks along, but you’re so sick… I’m lucky. I just had it until I was five months pregnant.”
