TV star urges ex to 'move on' in emotional letter after major love triangle

Fans have been doused with drama when it comes to the love triangle between TOWIE’s Harry, Joe and Junaid. Since the split Joe has tried to offer closure to Harry in the form of a letter.

The thirty-third series of The Only Way Is Essex premiered on August 25, with the premiere episode kicking off in Cyprus. It showed Harry Derbridge and Joe Blackman getting into a heated argument, that inevitably lead to their split. Since their break up Joe has been getting cosy with fellow cast mate Junaid causing divisions among this Essex based cast. Now it seems Joe is repenting for his sins and has reached out to Harry in an emotionally fraught letter.

Harry and Joe break up in season premiere

Junaid-Harry-Joe has been a confusing love triangle on the ITVBe series for a while now. Last season Harry and Junaid had a big bust-up in the middle of the street that led to an epic fall out over, you guessed it, Joe.

Following that, Harry and Junaid put their differences aside to become on-screen besties once more. That was until Harry discovered text messages between ex partner Joe and former best friend Junaid. Emphasis on the former.

This led to a blazing row shortly before the couple ended things for good. This was just week after they were vowing to get married in Las Vegas and discussing the potentials of having children.

Since the dramas of Cyprus, Joe and Junaid have been spotted around Essex spending time with each other and going on dates, which has led to a number of the cast unfollowing Junaid on Instagram. Ouch.

Harry has been taking the time to process his break up from Joe and has been slowly getting his life back on track. Which is why episode 8, airing on October 13, must have been incredibly emotionally charged for Harry who narrated a letter sent to him from his ex love.

Harry reads Joe’s letter word for word

Amy Child and Harry Derbridge sit on sun loungers, a table with a glass of wine is between them. Amy is looking at Harry as he reads a letter to her.

In the emotional scene Harry joins cousin Amy Childs to sun themselves in the garden. He tells her he had a letter through his door with what looked like Joe’s handwriting. Not being able to open it at the time, the 30-year-old is ready to process it with his family member.

The letter begins: “Harry, I wanted to write this letter to explain in the last few months on how I feel and how we got here.”

“I feel like our relationship was great for the first 6 months, towards the end of our relationship we was both very unhappy and I feel on the verge of disliking each other.” The letter continues.

At this point Harry turns to Amy to confirm: “I never disliked him.” Before she urges him to read on.

“I feel like it’s important for you to know that I did really try at making the relationship work, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case and I felt like you punished me for being open with you about it.” Joe opened up.

He then referenced the drama that unfolded in Cyprus: “In Cyprus I saw a very different side that hurt me and broke me. There wasn’t one day in Cyprus where I wasn’t crying, or shouting, at someone defending myself about our relationship.”

“You chose to believe other people then ask me yourself.” Joe told Harry in the letter. Before he continued: “Relationships are about honesty. I was loyal to you throughout our entire relationship, because that was the promise we made to each other and I didn’t go back on it.”

Joe then takes it to a more emotionally charged place, the shared love for each other’s families: “I loved your family more than you probably think, Harry, and know you loved mine. I saw Amy and to be honest it broke my heart into pieces.”

“I’ve never introduced Dads to any man in my life before, and never wanted to settle down with someone before, you was the first. Dads does miss you, and that on its own breaks my heart, because I know he loves you. You’ll always be his Harry Chops!”

“I know that it’s hard, you was amazing with Da, and I’ll never ever take that away from you. I’ll never say a bad word about you to him.” Joe promised Harry.

‘Harry, you’ve completely got this’

Joe concluded the letter urging Harry to move on with his life: “I generally want you to move on with your life and get the happiness you want, and deserve. I also want to move on with my life and be happy.”

Harry, who is crying hard tells his cousin: “I feel like he’s like got a version in his head, of like a story that’s happened, all I’ve ever done is love him.”

Amy tried to reassure Harry that this letter meant he could finally have “closure” and “literally now move on.” As she encouraged Harry to take some deep breaths and calm down, she told him: “You can now move forward, move on with your life, and go here I am, I’m back, I’m back and I’m single.”

“Harry you’ve completely got this.” She finished. We agree and look forward to seeing what’s next in store for the newly single and bold Harry.
