Update: What We Know about Teddi Mellencamp Being Spotted With Horse Trainer Amid Divorce

For the last few weeks, Teddi Mellencamp has been on the Bravoverse’s radar. Between her appearances on the OC and being the talk of the town with Dorit Kemsley, fans just can’t escape her. So when news broke about her divorce from Edwin Arroyave and her alleged affair, naturally, fans wanted all the dirt. She has stayed pretty mum about the details, but this weekend, she was spotted out with the horse trainer at the center of the controversy. 

Teddi Mellencamp announced her divorce in November

On November 1, Teddi filed the divorce papers after 13 years of marriage. The former Bravo star asked that she get full custody of the couple’s three children and for Edwin to shell out for spousal support. Followers found out about the split via an Instagram post. At the time, Teddi penned, “After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”

Edwin hasn’t said much but did respond to the filing asking for joint custody of the kids and for Teddi to be the one who pays spousal support. He also asked that they uphold their prenup.

Teddi recently opened up on her new podcast Diamonds in the Rough, referring to Edwin as “the other one” while chatting with co-host Erika Jayne. She added that she stays at Kyle Richards’ home when her husband has their children. The reality TV star went as far as to claim that there was no animosity between the two. She noted that they “can both be there like for sporting events. It’s not that we can’t. We’re completely happy to be around one another.”

Something tells me that sentiment is about to change. It turns out Teddi didn’t just grow tired of her marriage. Shortly after her divorce news hit the wire, it was revealed that she had stepped out on her man. Fan quickly learned that she had been having an extra-marital affair with Simon Schröeder. He specializes in jumpers, from young horses to top-level Sporthorses. Prices are steep for his services and include $1,600 a month to house your horse. And $1,650 a month for training. Simon has been training Toad, Teddi’s horse, since 2023.

According to The Daily Mail, his wife Karli began to feel that something was going on when Simon missed the birth of their child. Instead of being in California with her, he was in Florida with Teddi. The source explained, “Karli thought it was suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was giving birth. When Simon returned, Karli found text messages on Simon’s phone that exposed the affair. She confronted Simon and Teddi about it, and they confessed. Teddi promised it would not happen again.”

Simon supposedly had a history of cheating, and Karli was said to be tired of being connected to him. It looks like he is Teddi’s problem now.

Earlier this week, Page Six reported that Simon and Teddi had been spotted together in public. The mother of three was attending her daughter Slate’s equestrian competition. Some of the photos show Teddi proudly snapping photos of her daughter while Simon sat perched on a fence.

Teddi wore a tan hat and a black leather jacket, while Simon sported a white sweatshirt. Some other pictures show the duo standing close to one another. Teddi also posted an Instagram Story about her daughter while at the competition. 

 The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star wrote, “@slate_mellencamp_eq fought her way around in her biggest class she has ever done. #proudmom.”

The video showed Slate riding her horse during the meet. Even amid the cheating scandal, it is very possible that Simon is still Slate and Teddi’s horse trainer. The upper elite knows how hard it is to hold onto a knowledgeable trainer. I imagine sleeping with them wouldn’t get in the way.

Ever the accountability coach, Teddi is now doing damage control and trying to figure out the best way forward. Surely, being papped together is not it.
