USC Women’s basketball star JuJu Watkins lands Peacock deal to produce and star in her own docuseries ‘On The Rise: JuJu Watkins’.
JuJu Watkins finished her first season for USC Women’s Basketball averaging 27.1 points 7.3 rounds and 2.3 steals per game. Watkins’s first year in college ended with her placing second among Davison I players in scoring. Enormous expectations were placed on the rookie who attended high school at Sierra Canyon and she delivered across the board. Watkins secured deals with Nike, AT&T, and even Instagram where she showcases all of her various partnerships.
Juju keeps her off-court life very private but now she’s ready to open up her world to the masses.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, JuJu will produce and star in a new series for Peacock. “On The Rise: JuJu Watkins” also lists Klutch Sports and Uninterrupted among producers.
“I’m an introvert, so I don’t really share that much online, honestly,” JuJu Revealed. “I think to just give people more perspective into who I am, and my family, my friends, I think that’s also an important dynamic. And like I said, I’m introverted, so this is kind of my way of sharing myself a little bit with everyone else.”
Reportedly cameras will follow her as she transitions from Sierra Canyon to the collegiate level at USC. Correspondingly, women’s basketball is more popular than ever so it’s no surprise her story will be documented to inspire the next generation.
The series will debut at 3 p.m. EST on November 23 ahead of the USC vs. Notre Dame women’s basketball game.
