In a move that’s sure to delight handheld gaming enthusiasts worldwide, Valve has announced the Limited Edition White Steam Deck OLED, set to launch globally on November 18th. This fresh take on the popular Steam Deck not only offers a sleek, snowy aesthetic but also comes bundled with an exclusive white carrying case.
The Limited Edition White Steam Deck OLED by Valve retains all the impressive specs of the 1TB model but adds a dash of style that sets it apart from the standard black version. Priced at £599 / $679 / €719 (Rs 54,000 approx upwards), it’s a slight uptick from its monochrome sibling, but fans may find the unique colourway and bundled accessories worth the extra notes.
“Last year, we tested the waters with a smoky translucent edition in North America, and the response was overwhelmingly positive,” said Valve’s communications chief, Kaci Aitchison Boyle. “This time, we’re excited to offer the Limited Edition White to all regions where the Steam Deck is available. We’re eager to see how gamers embrace this new look.”

But act fast—Valve has emphasized that this edition is truly limited. Once the initial stock is gone, it’s gone for good. Purchases are restricted to one unit per account, and eligible accounts must have made a Steam purchase before November 2024 and be in good standing.
For those concerned about the pristine white exterior collecting smudges or stains, it might be a trade-off for the exclusivity and style. However, for many, the allure of a white handheld that stands out in a sea of black devices is too enticing to pass up.
The Steam Deck has been a game-changer since its original release in 2022, offering gamers the ability to play their favourite titles on the go. The OLED version improved upon the original with a superior screen and better battery life, solidifying its place in the handheld market.
Looking ahead, Valve hinted at the possibility of more colour variants in the future. “We’re using this release to inform our decisions about potential new colour variants down the line,” Boyle added. While a full-fledged Steam Deck 2 might not be on the immediate horizon, these new editions keep the excitement alive.

In our opinion, the introduction of the Limited Edition White Steam Deck OLED is a savvy move by Valve. It not only refreshes the product line but also tests the market’s appetite for variety. If this snowy edition is any indication, we might see even more vibrant options in the future, adding a splash of colour to our gaming adventures.
