Meghan Markle seems to be facing another setback as her Hollywood connections appear to dwindle, with a royal commentator suggesting that her once close friend Victoria Beckham has stepped back from the Duchess for a specific reason.
The Duchess of Sussex and the fashion designer, married to ex-England footballer David Beckham, were reportedly tight in the initial stages of Meghan's romance with Prince Harry, even securing an invite to the star-studded Sussex nuptials in 2018.
However, it's said that their bond has cooled off, particularly as both couples have entered a "streaming war" on Netflix with their respective series and upcoming projects.
Ingrid Seward has now voiced doubts about any potential thawing of relations between Meghan and Victoria, the Express reports.
Speaking to the Sun, she remarked: "I only think they would reconcile if they come across each other, and I'm not sure that they really do." She added: "I can't think that their paths would particularly cross again."
Seward suggested the Beckhams have deliberately kept their distance from Meghan and Harry due to the couple's declining popularity, stating: "I think the Beckhams have distanced themselves from Meghan and Harry, but for the obvious reasons that we all know, you know Meghan and Harry are the descendant, not the ascendant."
Furthermore, Seward pointed out that Victoria is simply "too busy" to fret over any falling out with the duchess, saying: "[Victoria] is actually too busy. She's got a business. She's got a very successful husband. She's got houses all over the place. She's got children."
According to Seward, such a packed schedule leaves little room for Victoria to dwell on the matter. She added: "If Victoria Beckham's [new show on Netflix] is a success, which I'm sure it will be, I think it's got more chances of boosting Meghan's.
"The Beckhams are so popular and they haven't really upset anyone in the way that Meghan has, so they're starting with a clean slate. They are so incredibly successful, and it's all through their own hard work. And people love that it's a rags to riches story, whereas Meghan's is a riches to rags story."
