Victoria Beckham Does ‘Mummy And Me’ Dressing In Silk Designs With Daughter, Harper

The days of Victoria Beckham matching clothing with her footballer husband, David Beckham, may be beyond her. But, her latest look proves that coordinated outfits will always have a place in her heart.

The fashion designer stepped out in London overnight at the Harper’s BAZAAR UK Women of the Year awards with her teenage daughter, Harper Beckham. For their rare solo outing, the former pop star dipped back into her repertoire of sleek tailoring after slightly eschewing her usual silhouette for an ultra-trendy ‘brat’ green dress.

The 50-year-old wore an ivory silk set comprised of soft trousers that slouched like liquid and a corresponding single-breasted blazer fixed together with a tie. As usual, the piece was from her eponymous label.

Yet, in an unexpected albeit surprisingly delightful manoeuvre, Beckham decided to style her youngest child in a slip dress—the adolescent’s preferred silhouette—made from a similar fluid material. Indeed, Harper wore an icy blue floor-grazing piece featuring a diamond peekaboo cut-out and two skinny straps that slightly paid homage to her mother’s look.

Despite regularly harmonising with her children during their early years, specifically during her ‘WAG’ era when she and her sons would show up to a soccer game in matching jerseys, we’ve not seen Beckham embrace the ‘mummy and me’ mode in a while.

Perhaps this resurgence is due to the entrepreneurial honour she was decorated with at the event, highlighting that Beckham’s success can always be attributed to her bold endeavour to never sartorially adhere to norms. And as the English power couple recently reprised their iconic purple wedding ensembles in honour of the 25th anniversary of their marriage, we can expect to see a lot more complementary moments from the Beckhams in future.
