Chocolate is one of the most purchased items over the festive period with supermarkets filling their shelves with the sweet stuff. For those who tend to go for the usual chocolate bars or tubs that are on offer why not try something a little different this year.
There are plenty of choices in terms of chocolate flavours and brands with manufacturers coming up with new and innovative ways to get their bar out there.
However, for shoppers who are stuck on where to begin, fear not as we have done all the hard work.
As we got to taste test some of the best chocolates on the market all ranging from £2.80 to £10.90. Even better the products tested are all easily available to buy from supermarkets or online.
We then ranked each item out of 10 to determine the winner. One item clearly stood out in the taste test and being “out of this world”.

Yorkshire Parkin Proper Posh Milk Chocolate Buttons - 150g

When someone thinks of chocolate buttons they think of that famous brand, but these ‘posh’ milk chocolates are deliciously light and melt in the mouth.

Salted pretzel, whole almond and honeycomb make up this chocolate bar with the right amount of flavour from each of the ingredients to make it a knockout.

Divine 85 percent Dark Chocolate - 90g

A ridiculously smooth bar and perfect for those who want to enjoy a rich dark chocolate with hints of red berry. Even better, it is made using Fairtrade cocoa and sugar.

Bare Bones Honduras Milk Chocolate 54 percent with Ethiopian Coffee - 70g

An Academy of Chocolate 2021 Bronze Winner and what makes a better pairing with chocolate than coffee, right? There’s taste notes of dates, fudge, cream and of course, coffee.

The marbled milk and white chocolate bar has caramel throughout and adds an extra touch with stick toffee pieces and crunchy biscuit balls. It feels like you’re getting three chocolate bars in one eating this.

Pierre Marcolini Salted Butter Caramel Tablet - 75g

This may be slightly more than what we usually pay for a slab of chocolate but this is truly out of this world . The velvety caramel flavour is prominent and lingers in the mouth for a while after. A once in a while treat to enjoy.
