Austen Kroll is standing by Craig Conover in the wake of his split from Paige DeSorbo. The Southern Charm lads notably had strife in their friendship while filming Season 10 as Craig retreated into domestic life.
But even though Austen expressed his concerns about the relationship when Craig and Paige were still an item, the Trop Hop Beer founder is putting all the drama aside to “be there for [his] buddy.”
Austen asked Craig not to “shut off” post-split
Austen appeared on the January 31 episode of the Chicks in the Office podcast. Austen revealed a conversation between himself, Craig, and Shep Rose that happened after the couple broke up.
“Craig came over to my house and Shep came as well. And the three of us talked about Craig’s breakup. And I was just like, ‘Craig, I want you to promise me that you aren’t just going to, like, shut off. And I’m like, ‘If you need someone to talk to and hang with, and take your mind off it, call me. Call me. It’s not good for you to be solo with your thoughts,’” Austen revealed.
Since that time, the friends spoke multiple times during “40-minute” conversations.
“He’s called me, and I’ve been there to listen,” the Southern Charm star revealed. “And he’s like, ‘Then I heard this. And then I heard that.’ And all this stuff.”
Austen is not the only Southern Charm star supporting Craig at this difficult time. Patricia Altshcul labeled Paige “mean” in an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, to which the fashion influencer quickly responded. And Madison LeCroy anticipates a happy future for her costar.
The breakup has been publicly civil. Neither Paige nor Craig have bashed each other. But the Sewing Down South founder recently unfollowed his ex-girlfriend of three years on social media. Moreover, Paige has been linked to marketing professional Joe D’Amelio. They were spotted in Miami together and are reportedly getting serious.
