This is their first time being billed as executive producers
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been a little more out of the spotlight this year after stepping back from royal duties in January 2020, they have been working away behind the scenes on various projects through their company, Archewell Productions. Their latest project was executive producing Polo, a sports documentary that is set to be released next month. The Drive to Survive-esque documentary follows the players both on and off the field and is already garnering attention for its trailer.
Polo will be a fast-paced ‘behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced and glamorous world of the sport.’ The documentary will follow several elite global players— including a father-son duo who are set to play against each other—as they compete in the U.S. Open Polo Championship which took place in Florida in March and April 2024. It appears that there are two father-son duos featured in Polo. The documentary will showcase Timmy Dutta and his dad, Tim, who owns the team, and the series will likely portray Timmy trying to live up to the high expectations of his father. There are also another father and son who will face off against each other on opposing teams— Adolfo Cambiaso representing Valiente and his son Poroto representing La Dolfina. What is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Polo documentary about?

If the trailer is anything to go by, then the answer is likely no. Neither the Duke nor Duchess make an appearance in the trailer for the documentary, and as they are billed as executive producers rather than stars or narrators, their contribution may be strictly off camera. Polo will be a five-part series. Archewell Productions, Harry and Meghan’s production company, also have another project in the works. Their untitled cooking show will ‘celebrate the joys of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship’ and there's currently no confirmed air date. The prince played polo for decades alongside his brother Prince William, which likely inspired the new documentary. He also often participates in charity polo matches, including a fundraiser for a charity he co-founded in 2006, Sentebale, aimed at helping children and young people affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/AIDS in Africa. Viewers can watch the documentary on Netflix from 10 December onwards. Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the Polo documentary?
