For the first time in 17 years, Mexico will host the world's most important beauty pageant: Miss Universe.

The Arena CDMX, in the north of the country's capital, will be the venue for the event that will bring together the 130 most beautiful women on the planet who will compete for the title of this ceremony, which will be the 73rd edition in history.

It should be remembered that this is an event in which each of the participants will have to overcome several stages ranging from personalized interviews, regional costumes, evening dresses and the always well-received swimsuit parade.

The winner will succeed Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios, who was chosen as Miss Universe 2023, and who will hand over the crown to the new champion.

Over the past few weeks, the 130 representatives participating in the event have had time to travel and learn more about Mexico's rich culture, making trips to traditional places in the country such as Merida, Guadalajara and the pyramids of Teotihuacan.

When will the Miss Universe 2024 preliminary competition be held?

This Monday, November 11, the Miss Universe 2024 pageant formally began with several activities for the 130 participants.

However, it will be on Thursday, November 14, when the official preliminary competition will take place, which will include the National Costume Show, which is where reference is made to the clothing of each of the countries of origin of each of the contestants.

In addition, the classic Swimsuit Parade will also take place on the same day to compete for a place in the grand final of the event, as the 25 finalists will be chosen.

The preliminaries will be broadcast on the Miss Universe YouTube Channel (exclusively for VIP-level members) and on Telemundo in the United States. The preliminary competition will take place at approximately 8:00 p.m. EST.
