Gavin Rossdale finally went red carpet official with girlfriend Xhoana Xheneti after more than a year of dating. Fans want to know more about the woman who has been called his ex-wife Gwen Stefani‘s “look alike.”

What Does Xhoana Xheneti Do for a Living?

While she simply describes herself as an “artist” in her Instagram bio, Xhoana is a musician like Gavin. She focuses on electro-pop and released her seven-song debut EP The Villain in January 2021. Xhoana — who goes professionally by the name Xhoana X — followed it up with a 2023 EP called Girlgun.

Where Is Xhoana Xheneti From?

While she currently resides in Los Angeles, Xhoana was born in Albania.

“So, I was born in Tirana, Albania, which is the capital of Albania, and I was growing up in a post-communist Albania,” she told American Songwriter in 2021. “When I was little, finally you could watch different [television] channels in different countries, and MTV, and like, different kinds of things. Whereas, in my mom’s and my dad’s generation, they [lived] in the communist regime, so they couldn’t really do any of that.”

“I came to the States after my parents divorced.” Xhoana told the publication about how she made it to America. “My mom won the Green Card Lottery. So, I came with my mom, (who was) a single mom and my sister. And basically, when I moved to the States, it was just such a major culture shock in every way possible. Like, it’s just so, so different coming from a third world, post-communist country into a place (that) you only saw in movies prior, you know, and like, only heard of that way.”

When Did Xhoana Xheneti and Gavin Rossdale Start Dating?

The pair started dating in 2023, and Gavin first appeared on Xhoana’s Instagram page in October of that year. The duo hard launched their romance via Instagram in March 2024. The following month, the couple attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards, but did not walk the red carpet together. That milestone occurred when they posed for photos on the red carpet of the MTV EMAs in Manchester, England, on November 10, 2024.

Gavin told Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes during a March 2024 appearance on their “Amy & T.J.” podcast that he reached out to Xhoana first, but “wasn’t looking to get a girlfriend at that point.” Their shared love of music blossomed into a romance.

Xhoana Xheneti Was Inspired by Gwen Stefani’s Band No Doubt

When Xhoana moved the U.S., Gavin’s ex-wife Gwen’s band No Doubt had already achieved massive success. The former music power couple began dating in 1995 and married in 2002. Gavin and Gwen divorced in 2015. The duo share three sons.

“Musically I’ve been exposed to so much more than I would have been exposed to if I hadn’t moved around,” she told Celebmix in January 2021, two years before she started dating Gavin. “When I came here in ’96 there was Tupac, Biggie and No Doubt and then Prodigy and Radiohead so just massive nonstop inspiration which I’m massively grateful for. I think you hear it all in my music — the attitude, the rebellion, the nostalgia, the vulnerability, the eclecticism.”
