Why RHOP’s Karen Huger Could Be On the Chopping Block With Bravo

Karen Huger has been reigning supreme over the Real Housewives of Potomac since day 1. The Grand Dame has taken immense pleasure in bossing the other ladies around and flaunting her standing within the community. But after her recent DUI trial, it could be really hard for her to come back to the series, with Bravo possibly thinking of putting her on pause.

Karen Huger’s future on RHOP is in jeopardy

According to Page Six, Karen might be hanging on to her cherry blossom by the tiny hair on her chinny chin chin. The word on the street is that Karen has used up all the network’s empathy and that she needs to pull herself together if she wants to continue on the Real Housewives of Potomac. The outlet noted that her return was up in the air. The source shared, “She would need to clean up her act for Bravo to move forward with her, but no official casting conversations have taken place.” Since Season 9 has already been filmed, Karen will not be edited out.

Karen has been arrested once before for a DUI almost ten years ago. She opened up to Bossip, sharing, “Technically, I wasn’t driving. I was pulled over into a parked area where you should not park. I turned off the car, and I called my husband. However, the teddy bear cops found me first, and I collected my DUI.” At the time, Karen quipped, “I said when I took this project, I own everything about me that makes me, me,” she said. “What makes me this woman people can look at? You have ups and downs, curves. The thing is, in life, you still stand, and I’m still standing.”

Karen Huger isn’t learning from her mistakes

If I were Karen, I would be shaking in my Jimmy Choos. The Daily Mail shared, “Shooting for the upcoming season is done. But after her DUI arrest, Karen Huger will not be asked to return unless she cleans herself up.” The fact is Karen has prided herself on her etiquette for years, but the bodycam footage really showed another side of the Real Housewives of Potomac star. The source added, “She was obnoxious to police and disrespectful of the law enforcement. ‘This will all be taken into consideration, and she is going to have to get sober before any decisions are made.”

It makes complete sense why Karen is on the chopping block. The main reason is that she could serve time behind bars which would make it impossible to film the next season. Even though the insider noted, “People feel like she is in so much pain after losing her parents, it is still not an excuse for her behavior. It is sad to watch the bodycam footage. She could have seriously hurt, if not killed someone.” The current season of the Real Housewives of Potomac shows Karen staying tight-lipped about the incident, and while she is drinking ginger ale she doesn’t exactly seem too worried.

Karen Huger was found guilty

After just a two-day trial, the 61-year-old was found guilty of driving under the influence, which stemmed from her March accident. She had driven her Maserati into the median, and luckily, no one was injured. The trial only took two days, and the jury deliberated for just under six hours. The prosecution initially sought 60 days in jail. But Karen chose to go to trial in hopes of receiving no jail time. However, she now faces up to two years behind bars.

Karen was found guilty of five out of six charges stemming from the motor vehicle accident. They included the lead charge of driving under the influence (DUI). Along with the DUI, Karen was also found guilty of negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was acquitted of reckless driving. The bodycam footage which was used as evidence was shocking. She made odd comments, including stating she was “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine” and cursing at the arresting officer. Another video clip also showed Karen telling the officer she “hated” them for arresting her. Yikes, Karen! Here’s hoping 2025 is a better year.
