Winter Storm Live Updates: Millions Under Weather Warning as Forecast Shows up to 20 Inches of Snow

5 hours ago 2

Winter storm warnings and weather advisories have been issued across 15 states as the East Coast receives the first heavy snowfalls of the year, and the bomb cyclone-battered West Coast braces for another storm. Nearly a foot of snow was dumped on parts of Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey overnight. West Virginia is expecting up to 20 inches of snow across Northwest Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph, and Southeast Webster counties before 7 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service (NWS) has warned travel in these may be extremely hazardous. On the West Coast, a winter storm left two dead, hundreds of thousands without power as record-breaking rainfall caused flash floods. Now forecasters are tracking a new storm system that could cause chaos to millions traveling for Thanksgiving next week. "A new storm packing the potential for accumulating snow is set to take shape across the eastern half of the nation on Thanksgiving and Black Friday that could result in widespread disruptions for travel and holiday festivities," AccuWeather said in an update Friday.
