When a British pensioner was quoted £3,000 for a garden tidy up, people thought it was extremely "over-priced".

So she was probably very relieved when a kind gardener called Mike decided to do something about it. Instead of charging the 76-year-old a steep fee, he offered to spruce up her outdoor space for free.

The only thing he asked for in return was to film the whole transformation for his Garden Yardz Mowing TikTok page. At the end of as hard day's work, he posted the clip online for his 23,600 followers.

In his video, Mike is seen tackling the overgrown garden with his mower. He trims down the tall grass into very satisfying lines.

As he works to clear the excess greenery on the lawn, he discovers a path is hiding underneath. And by the time he's done, the walkway can actually be used again.

Captioning the the heartwarming post, Mike explained: "76-year-old woman quoted £3,000 for her garden. So I did it for FREE.

People rushed to the comments section to praise Mike for his act of kindness – and say the client must have had the surprise of her life when he was done for the day.

One responder wrote: "£3,000 was well over-priced." Another agreed: "That's shocking. You're very kind." And a third asked: "Thank you – but why do people try to rip old people off?"

It's not the first time Mike has stepped in to help someone in need. Previously, he helped a 98-year-old woman in Manchester. The elderly lady was quoted £400 for the job – but the gardener agreed to do it for free.

Mike was also quick to step in when a pensioner with dementia needed help. He even reduced the £3,000 fee that had been quoted by another labourer. Instead, he got the job done for a more affordable £100.

Just like with his recent transformation, people in the comments section below the video thanked Garden Yardz Mowing for his kind gesture. One comment read: "Where do they get these prices, thank goodness for honest gardener like you."

Another said: "Such a kind man, you did a great job as always." And a third said: "Well done for helping wish there was more like you."
