A woman who claims feminism is ‘completely unnecessary’ has sparked debate after revealing her husband pays her $100 a week so she can cook and clean their family home.
The beauty of relationships is that every single one is unique - what doesn’t work for one couple may be another pair’s dream life.
One couple who state they couldn’t be happier with their current living situation is 28-year-old Alyssa ‘Aly’ Dee and her 51-year-old husband Tom.
The duo, who share a 23-year age gap, initially met while being employed by the military, and have now been married for almost three years, with their first child on the way.
Aly revealed in an episode of Truly’s My Extraordinary Family that she was attending school and working outside of the home during her engagement to Tom.
However, she said she had a ‘sneaking suspicion’ that her fiancé wanted ‘more attention’ from her, and that it would benefit them both if she became a stay-at-home wife.
Ally's comments have sparked debate after she featured in a YouTube video (Instagram/realfemsapien)
“The agreement was that if I sucked being a homemaker that I would go back to work,” the mother-to-be explained during the eight-minute YouTube video.
“I wouldn’t say I’m a feminist at all. I think that feminism is all bad.
“Men love women so much that they would have liberated us after they fully liberated themselves anyway,” she continued.
“I’m of the opinion that feminism is completely unnecessary and that it’s a female supremacy movement.”
Aly went on to say that she does most of the cooking, cleaning, and laundry in her and her husband’s home, and that she is paid $100 a week for her efforts.
She claimed her wage is apparently more than she ever earned during her career in the military, and that she takes steps not to ‘drain’ her husband of his money by budgeting wisely.
“I know some wives, they don’t have a conscience with that, but I’d prefer if I never had to look at a screen with dollars, ever.”

“There are feminists on Reddit who hate me,” she added. “Most of which are single over the age of 30.”
The episode, which was posted on YouTube on Monday (November 11), has amassed over 13,500 views and has sparked debate in the comments section.
Hundreds of viewers have debated Aly’s and Tom’s life, with one user remarking that $100 is not enough to cover all the work the stay-at-home wife has to complete.
“Do your thing girl, but also, know your worth and don’t be afraid to ask for it! You deserve more than $400 a month for all that work,” they typed.
A second watcher commented: “I dated a guy once who did the same thing to me. He wanted me to quit my job and stay home and he would give me $100 a week that being said I broke it off."
Another envied the married couple’s dynamic, claiming: “I wish I could find this......... a traditional marriage where the woman is HAPPY to stay home- cook and clean and doesn’t feel the need to freak out. This is such a diamond in the rough in 2024 in western cultures - 100$ aside or not who cares. He pays for everything for her in and out.”
However, not everyone was on board with the couple’s lifestyle, with one user remarking: “TRAD WIFE is so toxic. Feminism happened for a reason, they had no choices or options or freedom. This is odd.”
“I don't care what you do in your own relationship. But to claim feminism is bad because ‘men love women so much that they would've liberated us after they were fully liberated anyway’ is a wild, stupid thing to say,” argued another.
A third said: “Not my business, not my problem but girl get that raise with each kid because they want to eat and go places all day everyday.”
