A woman was left shocked as she pulled away a wall inside her 1870 home and found a hidden secret behind it.
TikTok user @behind.the.vale shared a video of their amazing discovery in a video that has received over 100,000 views since it was posted on August 2. The clip shows the user pulling the drywall away to reveal something old and unknown behind it.
The OP has been sharing updates on the old post office they are renovating, revealing the secrets that they are finding all over the property.
One particular instance saw them tearing away at a wall to find something that resembles an old oven, which has amazed internet users.
"Someone tell me what I uncovered," they wrote in the text overlay of the video. It features a black metal appliance that appears to feature a door and a tank, surrounded by old-style brickwork that has been covered up by previous owners.
"Hopefully TikTok can do its magic thing where it can find all the right people who know all the right things and someone can give us some answers," the video poster says. "Truly, I don't 100 percent know what I am looking at."
The TikTok user has been renovating the Victorian post office and post master's house, documenting the progress on the video sharing platform. As well as the main post office area, the building also contains what used to be a hair salon, a store room, and the old living quarters.
"The pipe runs outside this huge mystery 'no room' from our floorplan, so naturally TikTok made me bust in and see what was behind the shelving!" they said in the caption of the video.
On what appears to be the old oven, the user spots what looks like "Wright Brothers Leicester" on it. However, there is no way for them to know for certain as they did not want to tear away all of the wall "unsupervised".
Many TikTok users shared their thoughts and theories about this person's discovery in the comments section of the viral video.
"Looks like a Victorian oven, early 1900s. It would have been used for heating and cooking the whole house, it's probably integral to the structure so might not be able to be removed," said Hannah Betty.
"You need to restore. It would be an awesome feature," @trialtribulations shared.
Jim Jiminy commented: "Defo [definitely] looks like a range oven in the middle, a water heater on the right and I'm starting to think the room behind maybe was a smoke house for drying meats."
"What a beautiful feature you've discovered! It deserves to see the light of day!" said Lee.
