Woman Takes Husband to Event With Strangers—Stunned by His Behavior

1 hour ago 1

When Elyse Delmore brought her outgoing husband, Beau, to a family event, she expected a pleasant evening with perhaps some mingling. What she didn't anticipate was the viral sensation that would follow.

Delmore left Beau alone for just a moment, and when she came back she found him in the center of a group of strangers, holding court and charming them with ease.

She took a video and posted it to TikTok on November 20 and it took off, amassing more than 8.9 million views to date and prompting reflections in the thousands of comments on the difference between extroverts and introverts.

"My husband Beau and I have been together over 12 years and have been to many events together," Delmore told Newsweek. "I never even think twice about bringing him somewhere or leaving him alone at an event where he knows no one because he could have a conversation with anyone.

"He's so good at meeting new people! He's an extrovert who always leaves events with new best friends. People really enjoy him."

Text overlaid on the 10-second video, which was filmed at an event hosted by Delmore's parents in Los Angeles, California, read: "Brought my extroverted husband to an event where he knows no one. Left for a second and come back to him holding court with a bunch of randos."

Impressed by Beau's charisma, some commenters shared anecdotes about their own extroverted family members or partners, while others voiced their funny takes on Beau's natural ease in social situations.

"Man could start a cult," one viewer said.

Another added: "There's extroverted and then there's Supreme extroverted, cuz [because] what in the world is saying to have that many people hooked … Inspirational."

"As an introvert, I genuinely see this as a talent," another said.

"That's me. It drives my wife crazy that I have zero fear of meeting people," another added.

Delmore told Newsweek: "It was so great to see people relating to the video, and the positive response to my husband Beau's ability to hold court with the crowd.

"It makes them think of their significant other, their mom, dad, brother, or friend. Overwhelmingly people either see themselves in the video or someone they know."
