The young stars of Outnumbered are hoping it will return.
Daniel Roche, Tyger Drew-Honey and Ramona Marquez loved reuniting to make this year’s Christmas special, so they’re keen to do more episodes. And they reckon people power will be vital in making it happen.
Daniel, who plays Ben, said: “We don’t know if there will be more episodes in the future, but the writers left it open-ended, so it could happen.
“I imagine it will depend on the reception to the special. We are all open to the idea. It’s always nice to go back to the show.”
Ramona, who plays Karen, added: “You never know what’s going to happen.”
Outnumbered has been a ratings smash for the BBC since it first hit our screens in 2007.
And the stars see first hand just how much viewers love the sitcom.
Tyger explained: “When it was announced we were going to make this year’s Christmas special, we saw all the reception and the hype that got.
“I was thrilled about the reaction the news got. It was emotional.”
The news comes as Outnumbered buffs were left gutted when a shocker dropped within seconds of the 2024 festive special's opening scene.
After an eight-year hiatus since the last holiday episode in 2016, the Brockman clan is back on our tellies aiming for a classic family Yuletide. However, Hugh Dennis' character Pete is set to deliver some heart-wrenching news - he's battling cancer.
While Claire Skinner's Sue attempts to whip up some Christmas cheer, their now-adult offspring Jake, Ben and Karen are wrestling with their own dramas.
But what really threw fans for a loop was the bombshell that Pete and Sue had upped sticks from their old pad since we last caught up with them.
"IM SO SAD THEY MOVED HOUSE OMG," one fan blurted out on X (formerly Twitter).
"Thought the Outnumbered special episode was going to be happy and nostalgic but they've moved house and Pete is dying," another viewer lamented.
