One of the most unsung series Netflix has ever produced, 1899 follows the multinational immigrants aboard a passenger ship in the open ocean who are confronted by a second ship floating near them. This second ship’s origins and destination are mysterious, as is what happened to everyone on board.
As the immigrants search for answers, they question the nature of their own reality and whether their fates are truly in their own hands. 1899 is riveting precisely because it knows how to dole out its mystery and keep you hooked through the entirety of its eight-episode season.

The early 2020s were the peak era of shows about various startups launched a decade earlier, and Super Pumped got somewhat lost in the shuffle. Chronicling the chaotic rise of Uber and its quest to become a profitable company, Super Pumped stars Joseph Gordon Levitt as Travis Kalanick, the company’s volatile CEO who is ousted from the company after a variety of internal and external fissures become too wide to cross.
Levitt is genuinely excellent in the lead role, and Super Pumped ultimately becomes a story about the way all of these companies can continue to exist without actually making money.

Documentary Now! (2015-)

One of the greatest parody series ever made, Documentary Now! feels a little bit like a show about a bunch of friends trying to make each other laugh. Each episode is a parody of a different famous documentary, which may make the series sound niche, but part of the joy is reveling in the specificity of each episode.
Even if you haven’t seen the documentary that’s being lampooned, there’s plenty to admire about the jokes in every episode and the way the show’s creative team, led by Bill Hader and Fred Armisen and often featuring a variety of other comedic geniuses, chooses to format each episode.

One of 2024’s most acclaimed shows is now on Netflix. Here’s why you should watch it
You know how some shows are huge on social media but they don't seem to have such a large footprint in the outside world? Well, AMC's Interview with the Vampire is one such show. Based on Anne Rice's famous book series and primarily set in the 1910s, the show follows the charismatic yet cunning vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), who seduces and eventually turns the affluent Black man Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson). As in the novel, the story is framed as an interview Louis gives to a journalist in 1973.
The show is the second major adaptation of Rice's novel after the 1994 Neil Jordan version starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. However, it's an infinitely superior adaptation, showcasing the complex and changing dynamic between the two tortured vampires. Interview with the Vampire doesn't have the mass audience it deserves, but things will soon change, as the show is coming to Netflix this August, where it will hopefully find a larger audience. Extraction 2 is the most popular Netflix movie right now. Here’s why you should watch it
In April 2020, most of the world was stuck inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Movie theaters were closed, causing every major studio to push back their films to later dates, so streaming services were one of the few places to find new movies. One of those streamers was Netflix, which released the action thriller Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth on April 24, 2020. Hemsworth stars as Tyler Rake, a former special ops agent- turned-elite mercenary who must rescue the son of an Indian drug lord. Extraction was a huge hit with audiences and became Netflix's most-watched original film up to that point.
Three years later, Tyler Rake is back with a new mission in the sequel Extraction 2. After surviving the events at the end of Extraction, including a gunshot to the neck, Tyler retires to a secluded cabin in Austria. While recovering from his injuries, Tyler is recruited by a mysterious stranger (Idris Elba) for another adventure -- and this one is personal. Tyler is tasked with freeing his ex-wife's sister, Ketevan (Tinatin Dalakishvili), and her two children from a Georgian prison. The sequel packs an even bigger and better punch, with more fantastic action sequences. Here are three reasons why Extraction 2 should be the next movie in your queue.
