Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested last Tuesday (Oct. 29) and has now struck a new deal to end his jail stint. The rapper was taken into custody for violating the terms of his release after a felony conviction.
The entertainer, born Daniel Hernández, agreed to serve a month in jail for the violation, the Associated Press reports. Following that, the conditions of the deal also include a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention, and a month of curfew. He would also be subject to electronic monitoring and have to submit to supervision from the court’s Probation Department for another year.
A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12, where Hernandez would have to admit to the violation and “explain why a one-month jail sentence followed by three months of home incarceration, detention or curfew are sufficient for repeated violations of probation.”
The “FEFE” rapper was arrested in 2018 on charges of racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder. He pled guilty and testified against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. Judge Paul A. Engelmayer sentenced him to two years in prison, and he was released in 2020 and placed on supervised release.
6ix9ine rose to popularity in 2017 with his viral “GUMMO” track, which now sits at over 450 million views on YouTube. The 28-year-old’s career grew with 2018 singles “Kooda,” “Keke” and “Billy.” He has also collaborated with major figures like Anuel AA, Nicki Minaj, Murda Beatz, and Young Thug, and his last project, BLACKBALLED, was released in January 2024.
