"He was also well known for his time as a cast member on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days," family wrote in the statement of meeting and dating a Ukrainian woman, Lana. "His time on the show allowed him to connect with viewers, see the world, and share his experiences with his thousands of followers on Instagram."

Murphey, who split with Lana in 2019, is survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera.

In March 2023, Murphey revealed on Instagram Live that he had been ill and "in and out of the hospital" for a nearly three-months period.

At the time, he said he was battling issues with his liver "not working right" for the second time since the previous fall.

He added that he also had issues with his pancreas and kidneys as well as two blood clots in his lungs.

TMZ reported Murphey was diagnosed with liver cancer around the same period.
