Former Liverpool star Peter Crouch found skiing so tricky on his first every holiday with wife Abbey Clancy that he ended up "lying on top of the instructor all holiday"
Abbey Clancy joked her husband Peter Crouch "spent all holiday lying on top of a ski instructor" – because he couldn't get to grips with the slopes.
The towering 6ft 7in former England striker found himself in a pickle on the piste during their recent ski trip,.
Model Abbey, a Strictly Come Dancing winner, told the Mail: "He fell on top of the instructor about 10 times. Our instructor was tiny and she was skiing backwards.
"Pete basically spent the whole trip lying on top of her in the snow because she couldn't hold his weight, so he just fell over. Then I was stranded because I was scared of heights."
Abbey and Peter have been together for 19 years, having first locked eyes in a Liverpool bar back in 2006. They got engaged three years later and tied the knot in 2011 at a grand ceremony in Leicester, reports the Mirror.
The dynamic duo, now parents to four children – Sophia Ruby, Liberty Rose, Johnny and Jack – also host their podcast The Therapy Crouch.
Just last month, Abbey raised eyebrows when she branded a comment by her former Liverpool striker husband "offensive" during one of their episodes, where he was reading out a letter from a listener.
The author of the letter opened up about an intimate wedding, while a listener shared their unique approach to tying the knot. After Peter read out the letter, Abbey didn't miss a beat to weigh in with her thoughts.
She hit back: "That's after you said, basically, people shouldn't get married."
Peter tried to clarify his stance, arguing: "I just said it doesn't have to be the be all and end all."
But Abbey wasn't having any of it, claiming she'd "listened back" to his earlier words and was quite miffed, stating they were "alluding to the fact that our marriage is one huge mistake".
Peter, who notched up 42 England caps, conceded that he wasn't surprised that she thought that way. But she insisted it "wasn't intended in that way" and he was simply referring to other people.
Abbey recently opened up about her struggle with anxiety, labelling the condition as a "horrendous thing", which even played havoc with her nerves during a family vacation.
She recounted: "We had to drive over these mountains and cross borders and I literally thought I was going to throw up and faint and I just could not stop, could I?
"To the point where my two little boys were hugging me, saying 'mum, it's okay', which is so unfair for them."
