Amanda Holden has spilled an embarrassing detail about ex-husband Les Dennis’s bizarre habits in a raucous discussion on her Heart FM show. Responding to Ayda Williams’s revelation on Loose Women that she had caught husband Robbie nibbling his toenails, Amanda revealed that Les had been prone to doing the same thing, "much to his embarrassment", she sheepishly added on-air.
In fairness to Amanda, she hadn’t exactly broken a confidence, as Les himself admitted the dirty habit in a 2021 episode of Would I Lie To You?. The former Family Fortunes host and Coronation Street star shared: "I like to keep my old fingernail clippings so I can use them later on."
He explained that nail clippings made an excellent toothpick, saying: “"If I get a really good one that's got a nice hook in it, then I will save it for later.”
After making his startling admission, though, Les promised not to do it any more.
Now that Robbie Williams has been exposed as a toenail chewer, Amanda says, it’s going to be “a thing,” and all the cool people will probably start doing it.
Amanda had just turned 22 years old in 1995 when she married Les, who, at 40, was a well-established TV star. However, their union dramatically crumbled when it was revealed that Amanda was having an affair with men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey, and the couple divorced in 2003.
Chatting to co-host Jason King about little snippets of showbiz gossip about the upcoming Series of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Amanda also said she has “a very strong feeling” that Coleen Rooney would be taking part.
She revealed that while her Britain's Got Talent pals Ant and Dec hadn’t explicitly told her that the Plymouth Argyle coach’s wife was going to be in the show, she could tell from the way they didn’t answer her questions that there was at least a chance that Coleen’s next holiday would be in the Australian jungle.
