Andy Cohen opened up about ending his feud with Carole Radziwill and the recent taping of The Real Housewives of New York City during an interview over the weekend.
While also addressing the Vanderpump Rules reboot, James Kennedy‘s domestic violence arrest, and the ongoing drama between Kyle Richards, 55, and Dorit Kemsley, 48, the 56-year-old Watch What Happens Live host revealed if he believes Tamra Judge, 57, and Shannon Beador, 60, will make amends, commented on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five, and more.
On the topic of Pump Rules, Andy said he’d spoken to some of the original cast through DMs or texts.
“I don’t think anyone was surprised, but it was certainly the end of an era,” he admitted to Us Weekly on December 16 of the series’ recasting. “I was like, ‘Let me look at the oldest pictures that I have of these guys.’ And I went back and I posted pictures of [Jax Taylor], [Tom Sandoval], [Stassi Schroeder], and [Scheana Shay]. The four of them came on WWHL at the beginning. It was just very sweet to see — they looked so young and not innocent.”
When asked if he had been in touch with James, 32, since his arrest, Andy said “no,” confirming he had not.
Andy then opened up about his recent reconciliation with Carole.
“[Carole] texted me. We were conversing publicly a little bit, and she texted me privately, and then we just started texting,” Andy shared. “Then we ran into each other. Weirdly, I’ve not seen her since she left the show — I’ve not seen her or run into her since [2018]. I [ran] into her, like, 10 days later at the Polo Bar, which was crazy. I’ve known her since the early 2000s, I think, or late 90s. So we have a long history together that predates the Housewives.”
According to Andy, Carole, 61, is familiar with several members of the new cast of RHONY.
“Funnily enough, she actually says she knows or has seen most of the new women. I know she’s known [Jenna Lyons], probably, for a long time,” he revealed, clarifying that he was not suggesting Carole would be interested in rejoining the series for season 16.
“I’m not saying that. I’m just saying she knows these women,” he explained.
As for the RHONY reunion, which was filmed last week, Andy said it was “really good.”
“This trip from this trip to Puerto Rico is explosive all the way through. And it tees up the reunion very decisively,” he shared.
Andy then went on to reflect on Dorit’s behavior on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14.
“She’s at a fork in her life and she’s redefining her own life. And I think that that process isn’t a clean process,” he said, referencing her separation from Paul “PK” Kemsley, 57. “You’re seeing that as she’s living through it.”
He then noted that Kyle, who split from Mauricio Umansky, 54, last year, was “at a similar place in her life.”
“You’re dealing with two people who are actually, I mean, I think it’s sad because they could [support each other],” he said. “You will see them, at times, this season being a great support for each other. They actually weirdly need each other more now than they probably have.”
Regarding Southern Charm, Andy said he “can’t wait” for the reunion — and to question Craig Conover, 35, about his potential on-camera lies.
“We’ll see what he says,” he stated. “He always has an answer for everything.”
As for Jarrett “JT” Thomas, 39, who quit the show weeks ago, Andy admitted he’s “a wild ride.”
“I don’t know [what is going on with him] … but I’m a fan,” he revealed.
Andy is also a fan of The Real Housewives of Orange County, which recently reached a ratings high.
“[It was] one of the most loved seasons of [RHOC] ever. And that’s 18 seasons and the highest ratings in many years, over 3 million viewers,” he shared, adding that he “would never try to guess” whether Tamra and Shannon will rekindle their friendship.
Andy then commented on Alexis Bellino‘s status on the show.
“That is a group of people that is always kind of weirdly in each other’s lives in some dotted line way, or running into each other at Javier’s, The Quiet Woman. She’ll always exist in the universe,” he reasoned.
Andy also reacted to Angie Katsanevas, 51, and her “high body count hair” diss against Britani Bateman.
“[I love] seeing a Housewife in bloom,” he confessed. “The thing about [RHOSLC], they’re all in bloom. And this is five seasons in! And this is two seasons after the conjecture was, ‘Can they survive without Jen Shah?’ And a season after the conjecture was, ‘Can they survive without [Monica Garcia]?’”
Also during the interview, Andy “agreed” that it’s been interesting watching Gizelle Bryant, 54, on The Real Housewives of Potomac without bestie Robyn Dixon, 45, who left the show ahead of its ninth season.
“I think Gizelle is having a great season,” he admitted.
