With the partnership, the Angel C. Reese Foundation will renovate a community basketball court in Baton Rouge, LA.
Angel Reese and Cash App have partnered to give back to fans and empower women’s sports. The financial company will work with the 22-year-old to amplify her resounding impact across women’s sports with giveaways, community empowerment, a limited edition debit card, and more.
As part of the initiative, Cash App has dropped The Angel Machine at Fulton Market in Chicago. Today (Oct. 21) between noon and 7:00 p.m. CT, fans will have the opportunity to play an interactive game with the chance to win Reese’s iconic crown, her college jersey, sneakers, and more.
The partnership is described as Cash App’s latest venture within the sports ecosystem, and the company’s first endeavor into professional women’s basketball.
“I’m grateful to partner with Cash App, a brand that is committed to supporting my efforts in driving impact on and off the court,” detailed the WNBA All Star in a statement to VIBE.
“I established the Angel C. Reese Foundation to empower girls and future generations, and I’m thrilled that as part of this overall partnership, we will be able to collaborate with Cash App to renovate a basketball court in the city of my alma mater, Baton Rouge, a place and community that means so much to me personally.”
The upgraded facilities will be celebrated with a public block party in December.
In addition to the aforementioned Angel Machine beginning Thursday (Oct. 24), Cash App Card customers can select the limited-edition Angel Reese stamps to design their very own Angel-inspired debit card. Additionally, users can earn up to 25% off of Angel Reese merchandise with a maximum discount of $15 when purchasing items on theangelreese.com with a Cash App Card.
Cash App will also become a sponsor of Reese’s newly launched podcast, Unapologetically Angel, and will surprise fans on X over the coming months with exclusive prizes.
The Baltimore native will also lead Cash App’s “That’s Money” financial literacy campaign later this year.
“Angel Reese is redefining what it means to be a game changer, authentically pushing the boundaries between sport and culture,” said Catherine Ferdon, Cash App CMO. “Together with Angel, we aim to improve the future of the sport while supporting her unapologetically bold endeavors, create world-class experiences for fans, and provide access in the community for girls to play basketball.
