Ariana Grande Took Boyfriend Ethan Slater Home to Watch ‘Wicked’ With Her Family

Ariana Grande took beau Ethan Slater home so they could watch their movie Wicked with her family.

The pop star and Broadway singer, who play Glinda and Boq in the movie musical, stopped by Ariana’s hometown of Boca Ratón in Florida to enjoy Wicked on the big screen with her Nonna Marjorie and her brother Frankie — and, of course, Ethan tagged along.

She posted the special moment on her Instagram Stories on November 25, writing, “Flew to Boca for a day to watch with Nonna at the movie theater I grew up going to every weekend, Cinemark 20 in Boca,” along with a photo with her and her Nonna, which was taken by Ethan.

In case anyone was curious about who was behind the lens, Ariana made it crystal clear in another adorable post. She shared a shot of herself, Nonna, and Frankie holding hands mid-movie and tagged Ethan as their resident photographer, complete with a little smiley face.

“Thrilled to report that when the sugar glider had her drum solo, Nonna exclaimed loudly ‘Oh I LOVE that,’” Ariana wrote in another post, tagging director John M. Chu. Ethan reposted the slide to his own stories but added no further commentary.

ICYMI, Ethan, 32, and Ariana, 31, made major headlines in July 2023 when romance rumors began swirling—despite both still being married at the time. While Ariana and now ex-husband Dalton Gomez had been married since May 2021, Ethan and his now-estranged wife, Lilly Jay, had been together since 2012 and shared a child together the year prior.

During a Vanity Fair interview, Ariana reflected on how her relationship with Ethan was portrayed by tabloids and fans.

“The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it,” she explained, adding, “There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him.”

Despite all the noise, Ethan still said it’s been an “amazing year” during an interview with GQ.

“I’m just really excited,” he said. “I’m just really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this. She’s poured herself into it. I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”

“She’s such an amazing performer, and I think everyone knows how good she is [as] a recording artist and all that—but I’m just really blown away by the songwriting,” he added.
