Aspyn Ovard Is Enjoying the Theories About Her Divorce, So Here Are Reddit's Guesses

Utah moms are keeping TikTok drama influencer and Reddit snark pages alive and Aspyn Ovard is the latest to offer up her personal life for public consumption, and we’re grateful for every second of it.

When Ovard quietly filed for divorce from her husband of eight years, Parker Ferris, on the same day she announced the birth of their third child back in April, fans of the longtime YouTuber didn’t know if they were ever going to find out what happened.

You see, after over a decade of putting her life online, Ovard has spent the better part of the last couple of years slowly pulling back. Still an avid content creator, her children no longer feature in her videos, mentions of Ferris had become less frequent and privacy seemed to be the new norm for the 28-year-old.

For months, Reddit was in overdrive trying to piece together why Ovard called time on her marriage days after giving birth. Ovard said nothing, cared for her newborn, moved from Salt Lake City to California, included glimpses of her now-ex in the background of videos and left fans guessing.

Then, in August, Ovard slowly began to speak up. “You see how I don’t talk about my divorce online,” she said in a TikTok that has been viewed over 27.1 million times.

She spoke gracefully on podcasts about growing up, wanting different things, keeping it amicable until, suddenly, the tone began to shift. In a series of now-deleted TikToks, Ovard mentioned wanting her next partner to be someone who doesn’t gaslight her or accuse her of cheating all the time, someone who has a job and contributes financially. Then, in a move that has been Reddit-fuel like no other, she explained that her shift away from her “demure” approach stemmed from a 10 year secret she had just uncovered that “everyone knew.”

The often-sarcastic, unapologetically candid YouTuber was done protecting other people’s reputations and her followers have been on the edge of their seats ever since.

“I will absolutely never ever forgive the people who knew the whole time,” Ovard said in a follow-up TikTok, one of many that has drip-fed followers information on her divorce. “These are people that I thought cared about me, people that I thought were my friends, people I considered family.”

So, with limited information and a lot of confusion about where Ovard stands with Ferris who still appears in some very-PDA-filled TikToks, Reddit has been guessing and Ovard seems to be having fun with all the speculation.

Debunked Theory #1: Parker Cheated on Aspyn

This is classic assumption when a newly-single girlie refers to divorce and deception, but Ferris is not guilty on this count — as far as his ex-wife knows.

“Not that I’m aware of,” Ovard said during an Oct. 14 appearance on CHEERS! With Avery Woods. “No, I don’t think so.”

Debunked Theory #2: Parker’s Sexuality

“He’s not gay,” Ovard also confirmed to Woods before making it clear that she would never out someone (round of applause.) “That would just be devastating for him that he wasn’t living his truth. I would never be acting like this… for people to think that I would be exposing his sexuality is crazy.”

Debunked Theory #3: Parker Was Giving Money to the Mormon Church

Ferris and Ovard’s links to the Mormon Church generated multiple theories, including one that he was secretly donating money to the church.

As Ovard has revealed on her social media over the years, she grew up with a Mormon father and did occasionally go to the temple but does not consider herself Mormon. Ferris’ exact involvement with the church is unclear but fans definitely seem to think he has Mormon roots.

That said, Ovard shut this theory down. “My favorite theory that I’ve seen is that he was giving money to the Mormon church and that I was mad about it,” she told followers in a Q&A on TikTok. “I would have been mad if that’s what it was, because they don’t need my freaking money. They have plenty of money!”

In the same video, she confirmed that the issue has nothing to do with Mormonism.

Theory #1: Parker’s Mom is Involved

One thing a lot of fans agree on is that Ferris’ mom had something to do with it. After speculation picked up in early October, Reddit users posted a screenshot of an Instagram Story Ferris’ mom allegedly posted, writing: “Mama bear is coming out. Stay stuned.” As well as a poll that read, “Would you like to hear another side of the story?”

Ovard was quick to respond by…. well… you can see for yourself. And, yep, that is Ferris in this video. So, there definitely seems to be some beef between Ovard and her former mother-in-law.

Theory #3: Someone Parker Knows Writes Reddit Snark About Aspyn

Based on Ovard’s apparent feud with her children’s grandmother and her claims that many of her loved ones knew the big secret, Reddit have surmised that someone in Ovard’s circle has been spreading her information online. This stems from the fact that, over the past year, a popular contributor to r/aspynovard and r/aspynovardsnark on Reddit has been steadily relaying information about Ovard’s children, breakup and more.

Theory #4: It’s Something ‘Utah-related’

If you’re wondering what that means, you’re not alone and we can’t help you. But, Ferris’ sister did hop into Ovard’s TikTok comments to respond to fans who believe his mom is behind the Reddit snark and dropped a clue of her own.

“You’re wrong about the secret,” she wrote. “It’s much more ‘Utah’ than you guys are thinking…”

Theory #5: Parker Had a Secret Relationship

Fans are speculating that while no cheating was involved, Ferris could have had a secret fling (or even a secret child) before they started dating. Ovard has been open about the fact that the couple were each other’s first so fans think the betrayal might be that they weren’t.

Ovard and Ferris married in 2015 and ages 19 and 20 respectively and had been dating for several years before that.

Theory #6: It’s Something To Do With Money

Fans think one of the leading causes of divorce might have impacted Ferris and Ovard too.

“My theory is that Parker has some kind of trust fund or got an inheritance from a family member and has been keeping that bank account/money secret for ten years while Aspyn’s social media career was paying for everything,” one highly-voted theory on Reddit speculates.

Theory #7: Ovard Signed an NDA

This is a less of a theory about the secret and more of a theory about why we’re never going to know what the secret is… sorry, folks!

In the comment section of her Oct. 23 about never forgiving the people who knew, Ovard liked a comment that read, “I think she maybe signed an NDA and that’s why she can’t say what he did. It’s one of those where like she can’t say it because it will ruin his image.”

In an Oct. 12 TikTok, Ovard revealed that she has no plans to share what the secret is. “I’m not going to share exactly what happened, what I found out, whatever,” she said. “Just know that I’m going through it and just know that I feel a little bit better when I think of a funny TikTok idea and I then I make it and I post it.” Well then, Aspyn, keep them coming!
