Red: Passionate, bold, grounded; “Red is all about stability, passion, creativity, energy, momentum, movement. It's very fiery,” says Gunther.
Orange: Creative, vibrant, empathic; “Your aura turns orange when you're ready for something new—you're seeking, you're exploring,” says Gunther.
Yellow: Confident, outgoing, joyful, intellectual; "People who are big thinkers tend to have a lot of yellow in their auras,” says April.
Green: Balanced, nurturing, healing; “Problem solvers that love to observe the world around us, more analytical, but also healing and balanced.” says April.
Pink: Loving, vulnerable, sensitive; "Pink is actually very similar to green with a lot of that healing energy, but instead it also has divine feminine energy, which is nurturing, soft, and in service to others."
Blue: Communicative, calm, intuitive; “Blue is your throat chakra so it's all about your voice, your expression, communication, and speaking your truth,” says Gunther.
Purple: Spiritual, wise, sensitive; “Very connected to spirituality, very tapped into the mystical traits of this world and typically coming in with a lot of wisdom and knowledge as well,” says April.
White: Purity, peace, clarity; “Everyone has white light in their aura—that's sort of the baseline of their presence and usually that comes through as just pure and peaceful and enlightened,” says April.
The benefits of aura colors in your beauty look
Both Gunther and April recommend incorporating your aura colors into your wardrobe and makeup. A lot of the time, you might already be wearing your aura colors without even realizing it.
“I personally notice that people tend to wear colors that reflect their aura too,” says April. “When I read someone's aura they're like, 'Oh my god, that's my favorite color. That's all I wear.' Intuitively they're just tapping into that aspect and they're wearing that color. So people are going to find that with makeup, it's very similar as well."
The main benefit of wearing aura colors is embracing those aspects of your energy and declaring them to the outside world. “For example, if you have a lot of blue in your aura, you're going to really be acknowledging the importance of your voice,” says Gunther. “So you can absolutely reinforce the colors by wearing them."
April agrees, adding that wearing your colors can help you step into who you are. “I highly recommend people really embrace their auric colors and allow it to show on the outside just as much as it shines on the inside,” she says. “Many years ago all I would wear would be black and white, then I really started to get to know myself and immediately my wardrobe turned to this neutral palette and a lot of green. And then I really saw my aura and I'm like, 'Wow, I've really had a spiritual awakening, which is a part of that."
On the flip side, if there's a color you wish to cultivate, adding it to your beauty look and wardrobe can help. “If there is a specific energy center that you do want to focus on opening more, you can incorporate that color into your life to help open that space,” says Gunther. “Sometimes we get energy blocks. For example, if you wanted to open your throat chakra, you could wear more blue. You're starting to connect with a space that you don't have totally open.”
Easy ways to wear your aura beauty look
The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating your aura beauty look. Colorful eyes are an easy option Gunther recommends. “There's many options in terms of having color and eyeliner and eyeshadow and all that,” she says. “And if you're not a makeup heavy person and you just want to incorporate things into just your beauty, there's jade rollers, there's rose quartz rollers. You can use crystals in your beauty products.”
