BBC Radio 2 is having a right shake up this weekend and as well as welcoming back the much loved Nick Grimshaw, they're also saying hello to an alum three years after he left the BBC Radio 6 to host a popular podcast.
With Rob Beckett on leave from the show's Sunday evening show this weekend, presenter Zoe Ball has revealed his replacement will be none other than the legendary Shaun Keaveny.
Since resigning from his radio hosting duties in 2021, the broadcaster has been the voice behind multiple successful podcasts, including The Line Up, where he spoke to guests about their dream festival lineup, BBC's Your Place Or Mine, and Global's Daily Grind, but , he's ready to return to his roots.
Zoe had the pleasure of making the announcement on air today, telling listeners that she knows her former colleague will be 'brilliant' at filling in for Rob, who is understood to be on holiday, according to The Sun. The news outlet reported that the star said during her breakfast show today, 'Let me take this opportunity to welcome Shaun back to the BBC family.

She continued: 'Welcome, Shaun. I am so happy for you.' Shaun has yet to address the exciting news on his social media accounts, but with his first show since taking over from Johnnie Walker, set to hit the airwaves at 11 pm tonight, he might be too busy prepping to make sure it's perfect.
As well as Shaun's return to the show, Nick took to Instagram with a chuckle-worthy post about his own exciting news. Sharing two vibrant photos of him at the BBC Radio 2 studio, the media star could barely contain his joy. Seen sitting beside a sign for the station, Nick was grinning ear to ear as he told his 1.3 million followers: 'So this is exciting, beyond thrilled to say I'll be looking after you on Saturday afternoons.'
He joked that he is 'continuing my substitute teacher role' by hosting the afternoon show tomorrow and 'on and off for the next couple of months' while Rylan Clark continues to look after his 71-year-old mother, Linda. 'How fun!' Nick wrote, before signing off the post, explaining the third slide showing a man happily - but hysterically crying into a couch. ‘(Slide 3 is me when I found out the news),’ he wrote.
Rylan opened up about his upcoming absence from the show in September, telling fans his mum - who he stars on Gogglebox with, suffered a nightmare fall while they were on holiday together. 'Unfortunately, decided to take mummy Linda on holiday…She's not been away for 10 years. And what (did) she going to do?
"Falls over and breaks an arm and leg, what (are) you going to do? Classic Linda, classic Linda. Now a little broken arm and a leg, (I) can deal with that but when you take that up with everything else (that) is wrong with her? Nightmare, especially abroad.' While the pair returned home safe and sound and Linda underwent surgery, she still required help with day to day tasks and thankfully has a very willing son able to help her.
