The Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly has opened up about the strict rule she enforces for her children.
The TV presenter, 55, daughter Phoebe, 20, and 15-year-old Amber with her husband Vernon Kay, 50, explained how important it is for her to know who her children are interacting with online.
She spoke about setting clear boundaries when it comes to their online activity, while also trying to find a balance between monitoring what they do and respecting their privacy as they get older.
Speaking exclusively to The Express, Tess admitted: “I'm grateful for the guidance because you can't, it's not practical to go into your daughter's bedroom every 30 minutes and say, Who are you talking to now? You can only talk to people who you know, and that's our rule, and it has to be people you’ve physically met in the flesh and da da da, no strangers, no stranger danger.”
She went on to add: “So for me, I'm constantly trying to find the right balance whereby I am aware of their online lives and who they are communicating with and the accounts they're interacting with, but I don't know I don't want to see the messages because that's infringing their privacy and it's their own private space.”
The Strictly host went on to explain that at home, they lead by example when it comes to phone use, insisting no phones at the dinner table and no scrolling while talking.
She said: “I know, so at home we just kind of try and lead by example, as in, you know, no phones on the table at dinner at mealtime, absolutely not, no scrolling while you're talking that triggers me, so they wouldn't dare do that, they wouldn't do that.”
It comes after earlier this month, Tess candidly opened up about her skin secrets as she leaves fans in awe of her age-defying looks.
Speaking to Closer Magazine, she said: "I've got wrinkles galore. You know when you look down at your iPhone and the camera is open, and you go, 'Oh my God!' I'm at that point - but what's the alternative?"
Tess shared that she follows a specific skincare routine to maintain her fresh appearance and now wears less makeup than she did when she was younger, even on screen.
She also revealed that she has never had cosmetic surgery but does invest in skin treatments like Ultratherapy, which lifts and tightens the skin, with sessions starting at around £500.
