Joy-Anna’s Dark Misadventure

In October 2024, Joy-Anna experienced a roller coaster of emotions as she purchased box dye for the first time to dye her hair a dark brown. However, it didn’t exactly go as planned, as her hair pulled mostly red and resulted in a patchy auburn-light brown combination. She ended up going to a salon to get it fixed. The entire misadventure was documented in a series of videos on Instagram.

“I went to the salon & was able to use hair stripper to pull out the dark & then we added some chocolate brown dye to the roots & highlights and it turned out so BEAUTIFUL! And it still has the auburn tint!” the mom of three captioned the final reveal.

Michelle was treated to a trip to the salon for her 46th birthday and was taken aback when she saw her voluminous blowout. “I’ve not had a totally different style,” the TLC star shared about her usually curly ‘do.

After getting a cut and new style, Michelle expressed her surprise on 19 Kids and Counting. “Oh wow! It’s definitely different,” the TV personality said, noting it would take her some time to get used to. “I’ll learn to love it,” she added.

“It looks really cute. I think she probably didn’t expect to have that much taken off, but by the end of the year her hair will grow out,” Jessa Seewald chimed in.

Jinger Goes Blonde

Before moving to Los Angeles, California, Jinger kissed her brunette hair goodbye in a 2019 episode of Counting On. In 2019, Jill underwent her own dramatic hair makeover. “I wanted to get a little more cut off than I did last time and wanted to get it done soon because it was getting to be hard to manage, the boys were getting tangled in it, I was sitting on it and the weight was contributing to headaches!” she wrote in her family blog. “I got to thinking about it and got excited thinking that if I got a little bit more taken off, then I’d have enough to donate to an organization that makes free wigs for people who have lost their hair.”
