If you’ve been watching Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5, you may already agree with me that Chef Cloyce Martin is a bit of a diva. He thinks he can call the shots and he’s in charge. Isn’t that cute?
If anyone besides Captain Glenn Shephard is going to be calling the shots, it’s not going to be the chef. He may be in charge of the galley, but that’s as far as his domain extends. Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher is the HBIC.
Cloyce Martin tries to throw Daisy Kelliher under the bus — for the second time
In Episode 3 of BDSY, Daisy and Cloyce clashed over plates being cleared, leaving the guests waiting 17 minutes for their dessert to arrive. Daisy asked deckhand Emma Crouch to let the chef know they were clearing the table.
The bread and butter pudding was in the fridge and needed to be warmed for eight minutes before it could be served. Daisy asked Emma to tell Chef, “If he wants to start plating, he can.”
When Daisy made an appearance in the galley, she told the chef, “Yeah. We were clear a while ago. I thought Emma came down to tell you?”
“[That’s] just not how things work,” Chef says in a confessional. “Deckhands should just be completely removed from the scenario. I need Daisy to come on the radio and say, ‘Hey, we’re cleared.’”
“Me and the chef are gonna fight,” Daisy whispers to First Mate Gary King in passing. I guess she and Gary are friends again now that they’ve made peace.
“A, where do you think all these big, giant plates came from?” Daisy asks in a confessional. “And B, communication works both ways. You have a radio. Ask me.”
“I was like, ‘What the f*ck? I told you I cleared.’ I’m on your side,” Daisy interviewed. “Don’t f*cking [throw] me under the bus. That was the second service he’s tried throwing me under the bus.”
“Cloyce,” Daisy interviews, “back the f*ck up. Do not think that I’m going to be taking this sh*t. F*cking own it.”
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
