Ben Affleck Spotted Returning to His Pacific Palisades Mansion After Los Angeles Wildfire Evacuation

Ben Affleck was spotted returning to his Pacific Palisades home hours after he evacuated the mansion and fled to ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s house due to the rapidly spreading Los Angeles wildfires.

The Good Will Hunting star, 52, could be seen driving back to his $20 million house, which was miraculously still standing after the fires raged through the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, according to photos published by The Daily Mail on Thursday, January 9. Ben wore a tan sport coat and a white dress shirt as he returned home from his office.

After checking on his house, which was still considered to be in an evacuation area, Ben was later seen with a friend on Wednesday, January 8, according to the outlet. He reportedly appeared to be in good spirits with a smile on his face.

The night before Ben’s return home, he was spotted driving out of his neighborhood as he and others were told to evacuate before the wildfires entered the area. Photos published by TMZ on Wednesday showed the Air actor looking focused as he drove to see Jennifer, 52, with whom he shares three children.

Though the 13 Going on 30 star lives near her ex-husband, her area has not yet been evacuated. It’s unclear whether Ben went to check on his family or he was seeking shelter after having to flee his home.

The fires in Los Angeles began earlier this week and, as of Thursday, have since spread into five wildfires throughout multiple areas of Southern California, according to CalFire.

While Ben’s home, which he purchased following his split from ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, managed to survive the fires, countless other celebrities were not so lucky. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag lost their home, with the reality TV personality sharing updates online.

“Nightmare came true,” Spencer, 41, captioned a video of the flames.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, and Paris Hilton also found that their homes were destroyed, among several other stars.

Mandy Moore, who was able to visit what was left of her street in Altadena, California, shared that some of her home was still intact.

“Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s not livable but mostly intact. We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned,” she shared in an Instagram update after evacuating her area. “We lost our garage and back house. Everyone we know lost everything.”

Mandy, 40, continued, “Every house on our street is gone. My in-laws. My brother and sister-in-law — 6 weeks from welcoming their first baby. Our best friends. Feeling weird survivors’ guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thanks for everyone for checking on us and offering us help. Altadena strong.”

The Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday that 10 deaths have so far been confirmed in connection to the fires.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles City Council member Traci Park thanked Los Angeles residents for their cooperation with orders related to the fires.

“I really want to commend neighbors in the area for their swift response and compliance with local orders,” she said on the Today show. “As you’ve reported, this was a fire that grew and moved very, very quickly with the wind conditions as well as all of the dry conditions.”
