The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Dylan Efron is making an impression on audiences after making his debut on season 3 of Peacock’s The Traitors in January 2025. Fans want to know everything about Zac Efron‘s look-alike brother.
What Does Dylan Efron Do for a Living?
In addition to becoming a reality TV star by competing on The Traitors, Dylan has been working behind the scenes in Hollywood.
He served as a producer on Zac’s Netflix documentary travel series Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Dylan traveled the world with the Baywatch star as they explored healthy and sustainable living practices. He was also an associate producer on the 2020 documentary film By Hand, about twin brothers who paddled all the way from Alaska to Mexico in a raft.
“My goal is to sell a series for sure. I’ve been producing adventure content on and off with my brother, but my ultimate goal is to sell a show that’s based on adventure, travel, and sustainability. Those are my core and what I want to bring to the world. That’s the goal. To spread that awareness and inspire people to get outdoors,” Dylan told Whalebone magazine in July 2022.
The San Luis Obispo, California, native got his start working as a physical production coordinator on such films as American Sniper, The Accountant and Get Hard. In 2023, Dylan worked as a stuntman on the Disney+ shows The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
Does Dylan Efron Want to Become an Actor?
“What Zac does, I could never do. I play myself in front of a camera while Zac’s playing characters. It is two different skill sets,” Dylan told Us Weekly in September 2023. “He can play different characters and I can only play myself.” Dylan appeared on camera in several episodes of Down to Earth alongside his older sibling.
Dylan Is a Travel and Adventure Junkie
The outdoors enthusiast documents his many adventures via his social media. In September 2024, he shared a video doing a daring rope jump off a cliff in Southeastern Utah.
“NAILED IT! 10/10. Friends … please go do this in Moab. Of all the fun things I’ve done in Utah, this takes it. Can’t say my jump was cleaner than Zac’s this time, so I’ll need to come back for redemption,” he wrote in the caption.
Earlier that month, Dylan shared a video from a trip to Costa Rica where he enjoyed surfing, kayaking, hiking in the jungle and free diving in the ocean.
“I think one of the best parts about traveling is being able to learn because every culture is so different. I think that’s where all of our growth is as humans. If you never leave the city that you’re born in, you’re going to have that same gossip of that little town, the same points of view and then you go to a different country and you’ll realize that what they value as important isn’t what your culture does,” he said told Whalebone magazine.
Dylan Efron Is a College Graduate
He attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 2013.
What Is ‘The Traitors’?
The reality show is similar to the party game Mafia, where celebrity contestants work together to eliminate others in contests in order to win a $250,000 grand prize. Players are the “Faithful” but among them are “Traitors.” The show is hosted by actor Alan Cumming and won an Emmy in 2024 for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
