Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni shared playful texts despite the It Ends With Us set reportedly being full of tension

In the latest twist of the It Ends With Us legal saga, alleged texts batted back and forth between stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

Blake, 37, and Justin, 41, reportedly had a very contentious time working together on the Hollywood movie, which was released back in August to mixed reviews. Despite rumours of the duo’s issues on set emerging before the film was even released, however, text messages suggest things weren’t all bad between them.

The texts have been included in both actor’s legal filings, with Justin’s lawyers claiming that he and Blake “grew close” and texted frequently, describing how they “shared stories and pictures from their lives, commiserated over family illnesses and exchanged jokes and memes.”

In texts obtained by the Daily Mail, the duo reportedly gushed over one another and praised the work they were doing, while also seeming to allude to their own flaws. In one conversation, Blake allegedly responded to a message from Justin by saying: “I feel the same. It's suh a good feeling to get work done that we're proud of. And to do it together. It just clicks when we find it.

“And that’s just as rewarding as filming it. Or editing it. Or marketing it. Or releasing it. This is all storytelling. This is why we do it.” She then followed up: “Thank you for your collaboration. I’m really proud of what we’re doing."

“I like sentimental Blake,” Justin replied, with Blake joking back: “Never met her.” Justin then allegedly texted: “I also like a**hole Blake… don't worry.” Blake seemed to accept the quip, and sent back: “'I've met her. So have my suppositories.”

The idea of Justin being more “sentimental” than his co-star seemed to be a recurring theme, with him texting to her later on in filming: “I'm not going to tell you that you were amazing because you tease me for being so sentimental - but you were amazing today.”

Blake also referred to herself as a 'ball buster' in the alleged texts, and called Justin 'terrific' after he gushed over her being 'amazing' (

“Thank you I do appreciate it. I'm just a ball buster but it means a lot to me. I care a great deal. And always want to deliver,” Blake responded. She then fawned over Justin’s work in the alleged messages, adding: “You were terrific. I'm proud of everything we did today, but really every day.” The Mirror has contacted representatives of Blake and Justin for comment.

The It Ends With Us legal drama kicked off on December 20, when Blake shared an 80-page legal complaint against Justin. In part of her complaint, she alleges that Justin made a concerted effort to “destroy her reputation.” Blake claimed that Justin's alleged behaviour caused her “severe emotional distress.”

In Blake’s legal complaint, she claims that a meeting was held back in January to address Blake's claims and her demands for working on It Ends With Us concerning Justin’s alleged behaviour. Demands addressed in the It Ends With Us team meeting reportedly included "no more showing nude videos or images of women to Blake, no more mention of Justin's alleged previous ‘pornography addiction,’ no more discussions about sexual conquests in front of Blake and others, no further mentions of cast and crew's genitalia, no more inquiries about Blake's weight, and no further mention of Blake's dead father.”

In January, Justin responded by filing a lawsuit against Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation and extortion related to the film.

The lawsuit claims that Blake and her team spread false information to damage his reputation and take control of the film. Justin's attorney asserts that there is substantial evidence supporting these claims.
