Actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds stoked the wrath of fans after Deadpool star Ryan insisted that they were "working class," despite their various connections to Hollywood
Met Gala 2022: Blake Lively poses with Ryan ReynoldsFans have hit out at Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds after branding themselves "working class".
It Ends With Us star Blake, 37, has been happily married to Deadpool actor Ryan, 48, since 2012. Both Hollywood actors are incredibly sought after as they pursue their own careers, with Ryan going as far as to acquire Wrexham AFC in a huge career U-turn.
But now the pair have been slammed by fans after Ryan gave an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on what it is like to be the parent of four children. He added in the interview that both he and Blake are "working class" parents, despite their huge movie stardom.

A doting father to his kids - James, 10; Inez, 8; Betty; 5 and Olin, one - Ryan said it is hard to bring up his children in the spotlight. He also said he wants to give his kids the option to stay out of the public eye if they wish to, whilst also maintaining his own high-profile career.
"We try to give them as normal a life as possible," Ryan told the publication. "I try not to impose upon them the difference in their childhood to my childhood or my wife’s childhood.
"We both grew up very working class," he continued. "I remember when they were very young, I used to say or think, like, 'Oh God, I would never have had a gift like this when I was a kid,' or, 'I never would’ve had this luxury of getting takeout,' or whatever."
However, fans were having none of it and slammed the Proposal star's claims the pair were both raised working class. This was due to Blake being the child of Hollywood legends Ernie and Elaine, who were staples of early films; as well as her bougie childhood in the lucrative Tarzana neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
Doting dad Ernie had shot to fame as an acclaimed film director, while Elaine was a talented actress and manager, tragically passing away in 2021. Blake had previously recounted how she had grown up on film sets after making her acting debut at the age of 10 in the film Sandman, released in 1998.
Readers of the interview quickly took to social media to make their frustrations known, with one user furiously writing: "You keep using that word, 'working class'. I do not think it means what you think it means."
A second person did some digging and reported back: "Quick search - she grew up in Tarzana and then went to Burbank High. Her whole family was in the entertainment business.
"She was cast in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants while she was a teen," the commenter added. "It’s giving at least middle class; anyway none of that matters because she’s rich and insufferable now."
A third account fumed: "Working class people don't get married on plantations." Whilst a fourth joked: "Be honest (David Beckham voice)."
This is not the first time that Blake Lively has divided opinions after she starred in the film adaptation of It Ends With Us. During the press tour, it emerged that a rift had opened between her and co-star Justin Baldoni, with Blake appearing to "trivialise" domestic violence - a theme that is explored in the movie.
