A horrifying Popeye horror film is coming soon.
Popeye the Slayer Man's trailer was recently released and horror fans can't wait to watch the new slasher. The plot follows a group of teens who manage to sneak into an abandoned spinach-canning factory in hopes to film a documentary about the Sailor Man, who apparently haunts the area.
However, things take a turn for the worst as the group begin to realise that the legends are true. The trailer was uploaded to YouTube and horror fans flocked to share their thoughts on the upcoming production.

One person wrote: "They know what they are and they are embracing it. This looks so bad it’s good," as another chimed in: "Showing all of the deaths in the trailer sure was a decision."
Someone else joked: "Oscar winner for sure," a second person asked: "What's next? A Yogi Bear horror movie?" while a third typed: "OMG this looks patently absurd."
"It's probably "not very good" at best, but I give them points for embracing the lore of the character by involving spinach. It's not like The Mouse Trap where there's nothing Mickey-related in it," praised one viewer, as other supportive horror fans agreed that the story "has a great premise," admitted that they "couldn't stop laughing" and said that the trailer "looks awesome".
In the caption, Bloody Disgusting wrote: "Popeye the Slayer Man, a new horror feature exploring an alternate backstory for the legendary sailor, will be coming early 2025."
“We can’t wait for audiences to get a load of this gory and scary version of Popeye,” says producer Jeff Miller. “We went old-school and focused on using real practical effects, and not relying on CG for the gore. We’re talking with very enthusiastic and interested buyers now."
Popeye the Slayer Man is made by Salem House Films, Millman Productions, Ron Lee Productions and Otsego Media, directed by Robert Michael Ryan and scripted by John Doolan. Jason Stephens plays Popeye along with a group of young actors as the teens.
