Jane Seymour, 73, dazzles as she 'channels Wicked' at International Emmy awards

Hollywood icon Jane Seymour looked stunning in a plunging green sequinned dress as she presented an category at the 52nd International Emmy Awards in New York City

Jane Seymour looked stunning as she rocked the red carpet at the International Emmy awards in New York City.

The 73-year-old opted for a plunging green sequinned gown for the 52nd edition of the annual awards ceremony on Monday. She dazzled as she smiled for photographers ahead of the glitzy bash, wearing her locks straight down over her shoulders. She added a pair of gold heels to complete the look, while she kept her accessories simple, with an elegant bracelet. She joked to her Instagram followers that she was "channeling Wicked" with her outifit.

The star of Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman was scheduled to be a presenter in the Best Actor Category at the event at the New York Hilton. She had previously won an accolade at the event for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Special at the 1988 Primetime Emmys. She was awarded the gong for her role as Maria Callas in Onassis: The Richest Man in the World.

Jane took to her social media prior to the event to share further information with her followers. On her Instagram Stories she shared her preparation. She admitted there is "always something' that causes a challenge when getting ready for such an event. For her, she confessed it is her "cow lick on my fringe, on my bangs". "It has a life of it's own," she joked as preparation continued. "It goes in any direction it wants other than where I want it to go. So it has to be spoken to gently. It has to be sprayed and moved, but you can't force it. It's a delicate experience."

Once her makeover was complete, she continued to she her journey from the car on route to the venue. She explained she was "very excited" for the occasion and said it was "really lovely to be back in New York".

She travelled alongside her son, Chris, who looked dapped in a sleek tuxedo. "I get to be in attendance, and I get to meet all the fun actors," he smiled when questioned by his mum. Jane explained how the best part of the occasion was the fact they were all international based films, many of them she didn't know about.

Doing a twirl prior to heading to the red carpet, Jane joked: "I think I'm channelling Wicked," in reference to the huge blockbuster starring Ariana Grande.
