Lagi Demetriou became an instant household name when he and his father appeared as the hilarious duo Stavros Flatley on Britain's Got Talent back in 2009. Now, the child star is unrecognisable after undergoing a dramatic transformation since his ITV talent show days.
Alongside his father Demi, Lagi won over the public with their Greek-inspired Lord of the Dance routine, complete with leather trousers and comical blonde wigs, reports OK!.
Despite their memorable audition, the duo were unable to secure the top spot, losing out to dance group Diversity. However, they made a victorious return for the all-star Champions series a decade later, once again making it to the final and finishing in second place, reports the Mirror.
Since then, Lagi has stepped away from the limelight, moving to Cyprus where he now runs a barber shop in Paphos and hosts a podcast, CoolerBox. He is also a married father of two and is happily settled in Cyprus, even getting a large tattoo of the country across his stomach to match the one his dad famously revealed during their first Britain's Got Talent audition in 2009.
The boy we remember as a sweet 12-year-old now has a full dark beard and a host of other tattoos. His father has revived Stavros Flatley with his nephew Samson, but Lagi has not completely retired from dancing.
In a 2019 interview with MailOnline, Lagi revealed that Simon Cowell encouraged him not to give up dancing for good, hinting at a possible return to the stage for one-off performances He said: "When we got to The Champions, I thought this was the right time to leave. But Simon Cowell told me not to quit forever. So I will return for some shows."
After a decade of performing, Lagi felt it was time to move on. He said: "We've done this for 10 years for a joke. We've done so many amazing things but what is there left to do? We've done the Royal Variety, we've played in China, Monaco – everywhere. So when we got to The Champions, I thought this was the right time to leave."
Nowadays, Lagi focuses mainly on family life. In 2020, he got down on one knee, proposing to partner Annika Crawford on New Year's Eve after five years together, and they wed in the summer of 2022. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Xenia, in March 2022, and had another daughter, Demetria Demetriou, the following year.
Demetria's name is inspired by Lagi's father's name, Demetrios. When announcing the arrival of their newborn, Lagi and Annika shared a heartwarming black-and-white photo of their baby alongside Xenia's hands.
The name Demetrios, and its female counterpart Demetria, originate from Ancient Greek and mean 'devoted to goddess Demeter'. Last year in July, hairdresser Lagi announced on his Instagram and TikTok that they were expecting their daughter Demetria.
He shared a video montage for his 27,000 followers, which included footage from his beautiful coastal wedding in September 2022 and edited clips of the couple with Xenia. The video concluded with Annika showing off her growing baby bump, confirming that their second child was on the way. The post was captioned: "Guess we do this all again, couldn't do it with anyone better."
In September, Lagi paid tribute to his wife and family on the second anniversary of his and Annika's wedding. "Happy 2 years anniversary baby girl thank you for everything and the two little lunatics you have given me," he said.
