Jayden, Britney Spears' youngest son, 18, has taken the initiative to repair the strained relationship he has had with his mother after several years of distance.

According to a source close to the family, it was Jayden himself who reached out to Britney to rekindle communication.

"Jayden texted Britney to say he was back home," the insider shared. "She was very happy to hear from and see him."

Jayden decides to take the first step

The young man, who along with his older brother, Sean Preston, moved to Hawaii last year due to their stepmother Victoria Prince's job at the University of Hawaii, seems to have taken the first step in what could be a slow but hopeful reconciliation.

Despite the physical and emotional distance, Jayden decided to break the silence and reconnect with the Toxic singer. A second source confirmed that Britney was overjoyed by her son's gesture.

"Britney is thrilled to have her baby back," the insider said. "Everything is moving in the right direction."

When Britney and her son became estranged

The estrangement between Britney and her children is not recent. Since 2008, Kevin Federline, Britney's ex-husband, has had full custody of Sean Preston and Jayden, a year after their separation.

However, it seems that the relationship between mother and children may be starting to heal. Federline's spokesperson, lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, assured that the father is aware of the situation and supports the possibility of his children improving their relationship with their mother.

"If the boys feel comfortable improving their relationship with their mom, Kevin's all for that," Kaplan said.

He also emphasized that both boys are now adults and that Kevin respects their decisions.

Although it's unclear how long Jayden will stay in California, where Britney resides, it has been reported that he is not living in his mother's lavish mansion in Thousand Oaks.

Jayden is considering attending college in California and took the opportunity to meet up with some of his friends in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, older brother Sean Preston, 19, has yet to show any signs of wanting to reunite with their mother.

While the reconciliation is a slow process, it seems to be moving forward, and both Britney and her sons are willing to take steps toward a healthier relationship in the future.
