Brooke Shields Gives Nod to Iconic Calvin Klein Ad at SAG Awards

Actress and model Brooke Shields gave a nod to her famous Calvin Klein jeans ad at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Shields paired her silver gown with a “polished silver clutch from none other than Calvin Klein,” InStyle wrote.

Shields starred in the jeans ad for Calvin Klein back in the 1980s. Her silver ensemble was praised as glamorous and “dazzling” by DailyMail.com.

Of the jeans in that famous ad, Shields told Katie Couric on her podcast that, “I had three pairs that my mother kept from the commercial and one of them I gave to the Met, as one does. Doesn’t everyone give their jeans to the Met?”

InStyle described Shields’ dress as a “glittering metallic column gown that was completely covered in reflective sequins.”

InStyle wrote that Shields “honored her ’80s Calvin Klein ad in a disco ball dress.”

According to InStyle, Shields paired the look with “pointed-toe pumps, a chain necklace with a large statement gem charm.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shields attended the SAG Awards as “a supporter, because as the elected President of Actors Equity Association, she feels that it’s important that actors have a sense of community and support.”

Brooke Shields Has Spoken Out About Embracing the Aging Process

According to BBC, Shields has embraced aging.

“I knew that I had to find value beyond the surface and looks and beauty, because it was such a part of my upbringing and who I was to people,” she said in a 2023 documentary, according to BBC. The Hulu documentary is called, “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.”

Shields said, according to BBC, that she was inspired by how other cultures treat the aging process.

“It’s definitely a very American thing. I think you go to Europe – I’m not sure about the UK as much, but definitely in Italy and France – there is a certain respect and reverence for beauty, mature beauty,” she said, according to BBC. “We don’t – we have not figured that out yet. I think, I hope it’s changing a bit. I’m hoping to contribute to that.”

DailyMail.com praised Shields’ SAG look as “ageless glamour.” Shields is 59 years old. According to DailyMail.com, Shields “was a showstopper in a skintight silver gown” at the 2025 SAG Awards.
