Soon enough, he was picked to replace Greg Evans as the host of Perfect Match Australia in 1987 – he was then only 21, the youngest host of an Australian game show.

After one year on Perfect Match, he began to appear in more serious roles, including the telemovie Bony (1992), Golden Fiddles (1991), and Tracks of Glory (1993), with the last two winning him consecutive Logie Awards for Most Popular Actor in a Telemovie or Miniseries in 1992 and 1993.

Among it all, he fell quickly and deeply in love with actress and model Alison Brahe and married her three months after meeting her in 1991.

Soon after, in 1992, he moved to Los Angeles to launch his Hollywood career, beginning with a role in the spin off of Melrose Place, Models Inc. (1994).

He went on to star in a number of American productions, including F/X: The Series, (1996), Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story (2000), Riverworld (2003), Big Momma's House 2 (2006), and many more.

It was later revealed that during their time in the US, Daddo was unfaithful to his wife Brahe.

He returned down under to start his musical theatre career in 2012, appearing in a number of productions like Legally Blonde (2012), Holding the Man (2014), The Sound of Music (2016), and more.

He also has a singing and radio career, hosting shows on smooth.fm since 2012.

He lives with Brahe and their three adult children - daughters Lotus, 28, and Bodhi, 19, and son River, 25 - in the Northern Beaches in Sydney.
