Cardi B swiftly deleted her controversial election night video after Donald Trump’s shock victory in the US election.

The disgraced businessman-turned-politician sought a second term at the White House, and beat Vice President Kamala Harris in a tightly-fought election on Tuesday, with millions of voters disappointed with the result. Cardi, who endorsed the Democrat candidate, said she was “proud” of Harris, but issued a fiery response to those who had voted for Trump.

In a string of posts on her Instagram Story on Tuesday, the Bodak Yellow hitmaker fired back when one Trump supporter suggested she perform at the new president’s inauguration next year. “This is why some of y'all states be getting hurricanes, that's all Imma say. I swear to god I'm gonna f**k you up, get away from me! I'm sick of you! Burn you're f**king hats motherf****r. I'm really sad. I swear to god I'm really sad,” the 32-year-old fumed. Just hours later, the videos had been removed as a backlash against the rapper grew.

Cardi spoke at a rally in support of Harris last week, and despite the devastating election result, she said she was proud of the history-making politician. “No matter what, I know that she's probably emotional right now. I know there's probably a lot going on in her mind and I know she's not listening to this, but she will eventually see it. I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of colour are proud of her,” she began.

“Y'all, I know how I felt at the beginning of the f***ing year, I didn't want to vote for anybody. She changed my mind, I feel like she was very honest and said the things I wanted to hear. When I look at her face and she was talking to me, I thought she was very genuine and not playing any f***ing games. She had 100 days to do all of this and she woke this nation up. I feel there was a lot of things that went wrong last year and they kept her too much in the background,” Cardi added.

“I'm proud of her and I hope she's proud of herself no matter what happens tonight. This is one of the most unforgettable elections and I love her. I don't say I love a lot of people, y'all know that. Because I hate everybody,” she quipped. As the votes were counted on Tuesday and it became apparent Trump had won the election, Cardi tweeted: “We need a Hail Mary.”

“Cardi B has a meltdown over Trumps win. Imagine being a sore loser like this,” one unimpressed Republican voter tweeted, as another fumed: “I don’t feel sorry after seeing this video she posted last night and then quickly deleting it. Making fun of hurricane victims? Seriously?”
