Every year, dozens of celebrities go all out for Halloween, making headlines for wildly scandalous and out-there outfits. Perhaps the most notorious Halloween party is Heidi Klum‘s annual bash, but stars come out in droves for many major gatherings from coast to coast. This October 31, we saw several costume copycats. The most notable was Jessica Rabbit, which Cardi B, Chloe Bailey, and Latto interpreted nearly the same way. See who wore it best and other costume copycats who made headlines.
Costume copycats: Did Cardi B, Chloe Bailey, or Latto wear Jessica Rabbit best?
Cardi B attended the Hennessy & T Styles Halloween Party in New York City on October 31. With doors opening at 11 p.m., we can assume the Doux Supper Club bash continued until the early morning.
Cardi B wore a skin-tight corset-style dress with a Jessica Rabbit-style side slit nearly her hip bone. The “WAP” rapper donned purple opera gloves and a deep red wig of cascading loose waves. She added bright purple eyeshadow with a purple cut crease — just like Roger Rabbit’s wife.
Latto also attended a late-night shindig in NYC. After performing at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the “Big Energy” rapper hosted a Halloween afterparty and costume contest at Harbor New York City. The rooftop blowout featured a star-studded guest list, including Meek Mill, Leon Bridges, and Lola Brooke.
Latto wore a skintight, plunging red dress covered in sequins. She opted for purple latex opera gloves and patent red leather heels, adding a red-orange wig and red lip. The rapper’s Jessica Rabbit was more natural as Latto forwent a corset and purple eyeshadow.
Chloe Bailey’s whereabouts on Halloween night remain a mystery. But the Grown-ish star did take to Instagram to show off her October 31 ‘fit. Wearing purple satin gloves and a red wig, Bailey channeled Jessica Rabbit for her Instagram post, striking several sexy poses the cartoon character made famous.
The “Have Mercy” singer didn’t credit a team or photographer, but she did sport a professional makeup look. Bailey wore purple eyeshadow blended up to the brow bone. Her red dress featured the iconic side slit and corseted look, with red sequins like Latto’s. But Bailey opted for a closed-toe red heel.
The winner? Cardi B wore Jessica Rabbit best
Reviewing all three looks, we chose Cardi B as the best Jessica Rabbit. Her makeup and clothing most mirrored the cartoon character, and she wore it in a real-life setting. Although Bailey takes a strong second place, she had professional photos taken and didn’t debut the costume in public. Latto looked gorgeous in her Jessica Rabbit interpretation. However, she missed the purple eyeshadow and her wig skewed more orange than Cardi B and Bailey’s hairstyles.
More costume copycats: Heidi Klum and Janelle Monáe as E.T.
A beloved 1982 sci-fi movie inspired Heidi Klum and Janelle Monáe this Halloween. Both the model and actor chose realistic interpretations of E.T. that involved pounds of prosthetics and hours in a makeup chair. Klum arrived at Hard Rock Hotel New York for her 23rd annual Halloween Party in full E.T. She and her husband, Tom Kaulitz’s costumes featured animatronic eyes, long necks, wrinkled skin, and index fingers that lit up.
Monáe’s version also involved a wrinkled extraterrestrial with a long finger and animatronic eyes. However, her version forewent the long neck and focused on bigger, frog-like feet. The Glass Onion star walked the red carpet at her own Halloween party. When asked about Klum’s costume, Monáe told AP News, “There can be two Hallo-queens. I love Heidi.”
