Carol Vorderman received a huge backlash after sharing a disparaging post about Nigel Farage on X.
GMB: Carol Vorderman shares her political opinions
Carol Vorderman was on the receiving end of an internet pile on when she referred to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage as a grifter.
The former Countdown star took to X to share a post from Led By Donkeys in which they posted a short clip and wrote: "New Christmas lights just went up in Clacton. (Farage is still the MP who makes most money from second jobs. By a long way.)" Reposting it Carol added: "Merry Griftmas @ByDonkeys calling out the Grifter In Chief..."
However she didn't garner much support for the post and was called out on its "irony".
One person fumed: "The nerve of Carol Vorderman calling out Grifters she’s one of the biggest!!! I think all that Botox has rotted her brain."
A second wrote: "Hilarious that you have the gall to call him grifter in chief." A third quipped: "The irony of the bird off countdown turned social justice warrior calling anyone a grifter is quite hilarious."

Another commented: "Merry Griftmas to you too, Queen Grifter!.. ..seriously, the lack of self-awareness is quite something..."
A fifth fumed: "Why? He works longer hours than most people and is paid well. He fulfils all his roles. You were paid £900,000 a year for picking a few numbers and letters off a board."
Meanwhile some of the commentators thanked the presenter for giving Nigel a boost with her posts about him.
One wrote: "Excellent that should boost @Nigel_Farage popularity. Every time they do this he gets a boost. Well done and thank you. Although I’m not sure he really needs your help.
Another complimented: "Well done guys, more publicity for @Nigel_Farage Keep up the great work."

Over the past few years, the former Countdown star has become quite politically outspoken, regularly sharing her views with her loyal legion of fans online. Her latest swipe comes a fortnight after she was branded “delusional” for hitting out at Nigel Farage in a scathing rant online.
On Friday December 6, she took to X and shared a clip from the latest episode of BBC’s Question Time in which Nigel criticised Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
After watching the explosive debate, Carol flooded to social media to share the clip as she slammed the MP online. She captioned it: “Farage showing what an utter charlatan he is... yet again [eye-rolling emoji]. Audience doesn’t like him and applauds when Farage is reduced to his appalling fake bluster... #bbcqt.”
It didn’t take long before the star faced backlash for her polarising comments from furious fans, who branded the TV presenter as “delusional” online.
One user penned: “You’re f***ing delusional. I wouldn’t have sat in front of a stacked audience. I take my hat off to Nigel appearing with a bunch of brainwashed lefties.”
