Jocelyn Wildenstein, the socialite famously known as 'Catwoman', has sadly passed away at the age of 84.

The Swiss-born star, whose real name was Jocelyne Périsset, earned her nickname due to her numerous facial cosmetic procedures that gave her a feline-like appearance.

The socialite and art dealer was well known in the worlds of art, showbiz and fashion, and is mourned by her loved ones and many fans.

Her passing was reported by Paris Match, who reported that she was in a Parisian palace at the time.

Her fiance, Lloyd Klein, confirmed her death from a pulmonary embolism in a statement, saying: "Her partner Lloyd Klein is saddened to announce the death of Jocelyn Wildensetein in Paris."

Despite spending millions on facelifts that accentuated her high cheekbones and 'cat-eyes', Jocelyn often denied these claims.

However, she recently surprised her Instagram followers with a throwback photo where she looked almost unrecognisable. In the picture, she appeared like a Hollywood star, with stunning blonde hair and flawless makeup, holding her daughter Diana on her lap.

This image was a stark contrast to the woman who made headlines for her alleged plastic surgeries, reports the Mirror.

Wildenstein and Klein's relationship began in 2003, blossoming after her turbulent divorce from French billionaire Alec Wildenstein. Tying the knot with her ex in 1978, Jocelyn endured a 21-year marriage until things took a rocky turn.

Although Jocelyn Wildenstein has consistently downplayed claims of excessive surgery, Alec Wildenstein once shared that they both decided to undergo eye-lifts just a year into their marriage, according to Vanity Fair. After numerous procedures, her striking appearance earned her the moniker "Catwoman."

She justified her look to the magazine, saying, "The lynx has perfect eyes. If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes - cat eyes - and high cheekbones."
