Celeb Look-Alike Contests Continue With Harry Styles and Paul Mescal Doppelgangers

Why have just one Harry Styles, Paul Mescal and Timothée Chalamet when you can have dozens?

Celebrity look-alike competitions have been taking the internet by storm in recent weeks, popping up in different cities around the world. Most recently, Styles doppelgangers flocked to London’s Soho Square on Saturday for a contest.

Journalist Katrina Mirpuri was behind the event, which drew a crowd of 100-plus people and 12 look-alikes to the Grammy-winning singer who entered the competition. The winner got to take home a grand prize of £50.

The Styles event took place just days after several Mescal doppelgangers gathered in Dublin, Ireland, for their own contest. That winner’s prize was three pints, €20 and bragging rights.

Last month, the look-alike contests seemingly kicked off in New York City with people who look similar to Timothée Chalamet. The competition drew a massive crowd in the city, as well as the real Chalamet, a police response and $50 prizes for all entrants.

YouTuber Anthony Po, who was behind the Chalamet look-alike competition, previously spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his reason for hosting the event. “I’m in a stint of just trying to do public stunts, like performance art type stuff,” he said at the time. “I think it’s really funny, and I think that a lot of creators right now aren’t really creating anything. They’re just kind of commentary channels in a weird way. So me and Paige [his producer and assistant] just sit around all day and all day and think about like, what would be fun? What would get people talking? Wholesome fun things that are free for people to gawk at and tell their grandkids about.”

So… the big question is which celebrity is next on the list?
